This for online ordering & pick up. I ordered my groceries on the Safeway app. On each item that I added to the basket, I can select the available substitution. Secondly, I like the feature for “no substitution”. I checked the app that allows notifications via text. I followed my order on the app where I can see when my items have been shopped. I thought that feature was very cool. I knew when to leave to pick up groceries. I parked at designated parking lot. I got a text that the order was received and when it was done. My groceries were delivered to my car. The person delivering was cordial and assisted with loading the groceries. My order was done quickly and accurately - got everything on my list. I am very satisfied and will continue to use this service in the future.

This Safeway is the nicest one I have ever been in (and I’ve been in a lot of them). The store is well stocked and clean, the employees are very friendly and helpful. Kudos to Store Manager Christina Gagne - you rock!! Did I mention the bakery? Best display and choices!!

I needed to buy some toiletries here and waited patiently for an employee to unlock the plexiglass case. The staff member shows up and doesn't say a word, just stares at me blankly. I politely ask them to unlock a particular cabinet and when they do, I calmly take out the item and put it in my cart as they lock the cabinet. Up to this point, they haven't said a word to me. When I put the item in the cart, this staff member scares the bujeezes out of me when they suddenly and loudly say "front!" Huh? They reach out their hand, and I place the item in it. They ask "self check-out?" As I start to answer, they have already turned around and started walking away toward the front of the store. Ok... I continue my shopping and then make my way to the self check-out area. I ask the person there if they have my item? They don't. I start to explain what happened, but they aren't interested. I think to myself "what is happening?" Did I get my toothpaste? Not this time.

They had no self-checkout so people that only had two three items had to wait 20 minutes to get out of the line because every line was all the way back to the meat section. Wa's not happy they didn't have enough was not happy they didn't have enough clerks to bring up everyone or at least have the self-checkout open.

Customers are no longer allowed to pick out their own toiletries. A rude, condescending employee does that for you and escorts you to the check out stand and scans it for you; doesn’t even ask if you need to pick up anything else. This is a fine way to drive customers away. I should not be treated like a stupid elementary school child nor a criminal when shopping for daily essentials. This does not live up to “your friendly neighborhood Safeway.” Ill be doing my shopping at Sprouts or Amazon, where customers aren’t subjected to this degradation.
