- MRmadi rentfroDec 6, 20252.0Me and my boyfriend come to this Safeway very regularly, everyday if not multiple times a day after the gym/in the morning and we never have had an issue. Today we went in to purchase alcohol (as we have done many times before) and my boyfriend was paying, had his ID with him. He showed it to the cashier and then she asked me for mine. I was confused because this has NEVER happened before we’ve each bought alcohol before and they only ask for the purchaser’s ID. (I am 21 lol) Maybe I’m wrong but.. never happened to us before. I explained this to the cashier and she just argued and said that she’d deny us even if only one of us came back in. I asked for a manager and she said she was a front end manager (idk her name). So we left, I brought my id back and she was suddenly gone (5 minutes later). And guess what.. the new person who rang us up did not ask for both IDs. I have also never seen this woman working before and I knew every other employee I saw. I’m just lost because what if a parent comes in with their child? She’s denying them? Makes no sense to me and she was extremely rude. Sad to leave my favorite Safeway a bad review.
