It’s impossible for people who don’t work there for eight hours. To buy from the machine employees need to stop buying everything out before customers have a chance. Every time I visit, the response is extremely slow —especially when buying alcohol. I’ve had to go all the way to the register multiple times just to get someone to assist, which is very frustrating. Management doesn’t seem to handle busy times well either. It’s common to see lines of 10+ people while several checkout counters stay closed. Except for a few friendly team members, most employees act annoyed when asked for help or when checking out customers with a full cart. To be fair, the store itself is clean, well-stocked, and nicely organized—no complaints there. But the poor checkout experience ruins everything. This issue has been going on for over six months, and “we’re understaffed” can’t be the only excuse, especially since other Safeway locations in Santa Rosa are far better managed. This store has potential, but it needs serious improvement in staffing, training, and customer service. I truly hope this feedback reaches the corporate level and leads to some real changes.
