While I was talking to my husband and looking around, I noticed an employee cleaning around the front counter near the condiments and uncovered vegetables, including the tomatoes and salad. I then clearly saw and heard this person sneeze, a very wet, forceful sneeze directly over the area, including the uncovered vegetables and other food. I was shocked. What disturbed me even more was that the employee simply continued cleaning. The food was left there. When it was our turn to order, I told the cashier, “That person just sneezed on all that food and did nothing.” The cashier looked surprised and turned to the employee and asked if they had sneezed. I’m not sure what the employee answered, but I told the cashier I was sorry, I just couldn’t eat there after seeing that. What concerned me most was the response. No one immediately removed or replaced the exposed food, or appeared to take any action to make sure customers were not served from it. The cashier simply looked at me, and we decided to leave. As we were walking out, another customer came in and began ordering. The same exposed condiments and vegetables still had not been changed yet or removed, from what I saw. We left without ordering because I felt it was gross and unsanitary, and I did not feel comfortable eating anything prepared there after witnessing this.
