- YSY SMar 8, 20261.0Very disappointed in this Safeway. It is definitely not a safe place to buy meat. Multiple times the meat has smelled rotten or sour. Today was the last straw for my patience: the pork shoulder I bought for a family dinner smelled terrible and was clearly spoiled (even though the “sell by” date was 03/11). So either they are providing false information on the package or pre packed meat was already bad. Either way, it’s not ok. I want to be able to trust my local grocery store and buy essential items without opening the packages and smelling them (which I don’t even think I’m allowed to do). The staff is nice, and I have huge respect for everyone who works there, but clearly someone is not doing their job when it comes to meat quality and safety assurance. I’m done with this store and won’t be coming back.
