As a paying customer, I don’t appreciate being effectively detained while I dig through my bag for a receipt I already paid for—especially with no clear warning that this tactic is in place. It feels intrusive, unnecessary, and disrespectful. These kinds of measures treat honest customers like suspects and create a poor shopping experience. If this continues, I wouldn’t be surprised if it leads to serious legal challenges down the road. At the very least, it’s a great way to lose customer trust.
