We had a great business dinner at Fleming’s Steakhouse in Palo Alto on January 8, 2025, and everything was excellent. There were three of us, and each dish was prepared beautifully — the pepper steak was tender and flavorful, the Caesar salad was fresh and crisp, and the fish with asparagus was perfectly cooked.
The staff was friendly, attentive, and made the evening easy and enjoyable. The setting at Fleming’s Palo Alto in Stanford Shopping Center is comfortable yet refined, a great spot for client dinners or small group meetings.
If you’re looking for a dependable fine dining option in Palo Alto or a solid place for a business dinner near Stanford University or Menlo Park, this Fleming’s is an excellent choice. We’ll definitely return.

Came in for our department holiday luncheon and the food was great! All were very pleased. Unfortunately the customer service was lacking. I'm usually very understanding and can sympathize with most situations and or others mannerism, however, not only myself but others had complaints regarding our server.

Wonderful dinners. Started with lobster bisque. I had a petite filet. My wife had the sea bass. They were both excellent. The margarita was great and I had a classical Chianti which was very good. Service it was excellent as well, our waiter Rudee took the time to learn our names. Would definitely go again.

After medicore bread (and yummy cheese and pumpkin spreads) and water served it took 1 hour for main course to be served (Big party in next room with priority?) and only after we told waitress we only had another 30 minutes to finish. My scallops were raw. And risotto was barely warm. I ate a few bites and cooked properly at home the next day and it was delicious. My daughter said lobster roll was also delicious. I had much higher expectations for a very expensive restaurant. No appetizer nor booze and we split one side and dessert and bill was >$140.

Guess I'm going against the grain here, but we were a party of 9 and only 1 of us liked our meal. The steaks (petite fillets; there were 5 of them) were all under cooked. They were all ordered medium rare on the medium side and were delivered the same as the rare one ordered. It took forever and yet only took about 4 minutes to deliver them back well done. Wrong again. And the steaks were small and very fatty.
It took over an hour to deliver our order; we did not see the server in our room often, and when we did were not able to make eye contact. Basically we all felt Flemings was WAY overpriced for iffy service and Burger King food. Of course a 20% gratuity was automatically added, which I felt was part of the reason the servers provided, in my opinion, the least service they could.
We may be a one off, but won't ever be returning.
UPDATE: I did contact them as requested by their response to this posting. The restaurant manager was responsive and upset that we did not receive their usual level of service. She offered a credit towards another meal to try the restaurant again. 2 of us will do this and I will update this review. I am impressed that the restaurant followed through with their response.
