We skipped appetizers and launched right into entrees: I had the short ribs and so did a friend, very succulent and tender and flavorful. One of our group had the Cioppino -- seafood stew -- and he was very happy with his choice -- the serving was very large and he could not finish it. My husband's filet topped w/ crab meat was a less delightful cut of meat and we would not choose that again. Service is impeccable and professional and patient. Also, the Lit-from-within menus are a delightful addition. Kudos to our server, she was top notch. One small faux pax by another staffer who grabbed someone's plate to clear it while others were obviously still eating. Atmosphere is lively but the the tables are nicely spaced and the furnishings give the place a "you can hear your dining partner speak" low level of noise. Would recommend Cork Tree if you are in Palm Desert!
