MANAGEMENT, PLEASE READ THIS TOO!!! This is an "honest review from someone who is brutally honest". No, seriously. Let's be brutally honest with this one review, because I just need one (unlike someone who had to use two of their accounts to give two 5-star reviews on here - I will come back to you). The anticipation to Olive Garden's arrival back to the GTA has been tremendous. As someone from Winnipeg, I was excited to experience the same feeling I had stepping in a Winnipeg Olive Garden (for context, we have two locations and never lost them in my lifetime). This restaurant's atmosphere is nice and big. That's basically all the positives. Let's run down where you can improve. 1. Food. The food was salty. When I have to start gulping bottles of water down right after leaving the restaurant, there's definitely way too much salt. The table beside us also brought this up to your attention and even asked us if we shared a similar experience, to which we agreed. One of your waiters, to the table beside us, blamed your kitchen staff for being American and how "Americans love their salt". I'm not sure if that's an acceptable comment to tell your customers explaining why the food was salty. I don't believe your kitchen staff would appreciate that comment either if they heard it directly. Also, the portions are a lot smaller. I'm not a big eater, but the fact that I can finish my food today for the first time at Olive Garden says a lot. Additionally, the amount of breadsticks given was substantially less than Winnipeg's Olive Gardens. 2. Service. For the most part, this was fine. However, we were told that our server was only assigned to one credit/debit machine? We received our bill and waited 10-15 mins to pay. It shouldn't take that long. I get it, you've been open only a week so far and it's busy. Better forecasting would improve the training to help prepare for these circumstances. Perhaps run possible scenarios in training programs. Just a suggestion. 3. Washrooms, they were not well maintained. Water everywhere around the sink and the paper towels to dry our hands were out laying on puddles of water. Stall cleanliness was mediocre at best. For a new establishment, this should have been better Now, we address the elephant in the room. Sama Alhinnawi, I think it's only fair that I address your review just as you did to others here. You have your opinion and I respect that. I'm happy that you had a 100000000/10 experience. However, just because you did doesn't mean you are "entitled" to tell the other reviewers to chill and then try to discredit their experiences. I believe you are missing the boat in what you think we're upset about. Notice that neither I nor others giving 1 or 2 star reviews brought up concerns about wait time. I've read the other reviews carefully and actually, we all understood and expected the long wait time. We didn't expect luxury restaurant treatment (and The Keg isn't luxury btw). The issue here is that we expected prepared customer service from Olive Garden similar to if we went to Boston Pizza, East Side Mario's, Joey's, Cactus Club, Earl's, iHOP, etc. None of us are blaming the hosts or the waiters/waitresses. In fact, the table beside us repeatedly told the waitress that it was not their fault. They did the best they could. What we are saying is that Olive Garden's management needed to do better to prepare their staff. It is clear that they still need to improve. It is clear that the cooks and kitchen staff still need to improve. It is clear to me that they still need time to adjust. If the staff are fully prepared, the other issues (i.e. attitude) go away. We want them to succeed and do well because when they do, that benefits us customers. These reviews serve a purpose to provide feedback. Next time, offer your experience and leave it at that; do not discredit other people's experiences. Management, take the feedback seriously from all of us, and Olive Garden will be a go-to establishment in the GTA. I look forward to hearing about the positive changes in the future.

There was a hair in my Zuppa Toscana soup.. I’ve had Olive Garden in the U.S. many times and always enjoyed it, so this visit was disappointing. When our table was ready and we were texted, we went to the front desk and I gave the hostess my name. She seemed unsure and asked again how many people were in our party and my name. We were then brought to a table, but it had not been cleaned yet and we had to ask for it to be wiped down before we could sit. It felt a bit odd, especially since we had already received a notification that our table was ready. After being seated, a server greeted us and said he would be taking care of us and bringing out our breadsticks. Shortly afterward, another server came to introduce herself. I mentioned that another server had already spoken with us, and she seemed a bit confused as well. She ended up being our server for the rest of the meal and was very friendly and attentive throughout our visit. Shortly after, I found a short hair in my Zuppa Toscana soup (pictured). It wasn’t on top, I only noticed it after I had started eating. Since I have very long hair, I don’t believe it was mine. I sent it back and just ate the salad my friends had gotten. The service was friendly, and our server quickly fixed a mix-up with a chicken Alfredo order, which was appreciated. The breadsticks were great, but the salad seemed a bit wilted, some pieces of my pasta was dry and kinda like it had been sitting before being plated. I also added broccoli, but for almost 5 dollars, the portion itself was quite small and the prices of broccoli were tiny. I was also disappointed that nothing was offered after the issue with the soup, and I still paid the full bill. That said, the staff were kind and attentive throughout the meal and I did not want to give them a hard time on such a busy day. We expected a long wait since the restaurant was very busy, but after waiting over two hours, the overall food quality did not meet expectations, I also hope the management can fix these issues are we know the servers are doing their best. I also left feeling a bit overlooked. As a 18yr old, I couldn’t help but wonder whether my concerns were taken as seriously as they would have been if I were an older customer and made a bigger fuss. I understand that may not have been the case, but it contributed to my disappointment with how the situation was handled. Not to be that person, but I have never had an experience like this at any other restaurant.

It was so exciting to hear that Olive Garden was re opening again in Canada. We were so excited to try the food and were looking forward to the endless salad and breadsticks, however the experience we had was very underwhelming, disappointing, and overall bad. We arrived at the mall around 12pm and made a reservation straight away. After an hour and 45 min wait we were seated at our table. We were not greeted by our waitress for about 10/15 min after arriving. After that we placed our drink order and requested the salad and breadsticks. After our drinks, salad, and breadsticks arrived we placed our lunch order. 2 of the order were the chicken parm, we requested the spaghetti be substituted for fettuccine Alfredo which was confirmed by our waitress. We proceeded to wait for our food for almost an hour, ( we did not recieve a refill of breadsticks or salad, or even our drinks for the whole meal. Our waitress also did not follow up with us) as we continued to wait we noticed a lot of other tables around us who came after us received their food before us. Once the food arrived the spaghetti was not substituted for the Alfredo, and the order was incorrect. Additionally for the fettuccine Alfredo that was ordered, extra sauce was requested and that was also incorrect (little sauce was added). It was very clear the fettuccine Alfredo had been sitting out for quite some time (chicken was cold, noodles were sticky, sauce was cold) After waiting for so long, the people in my group with the chicken parm dishes just requested the Alfredo sauce on the side instead of re making the dish. The Alfredo sauce took about 10 minutes to come out and it was a very small portion. Our waitress advised she would bring more out right away as they would "only allow her to take two at once" (the extra sauce never came) We requested from our server that we receive 2 of the $9 take home meals of fettuccine Alfredo for free as their dish was incorrect. After confirming with her management team and waiting even longer we only received one take home meal. We decided to leave the restuarant instead of waiting longer for an additional meal. Additionally the washrooms were extremely unclean, poop in the toilet, toilet paper not even in the holder and the smell was atrocious. Overall, the whole situation was quite frustrating as the meal was expensive and didn’t meet our expectations at all. I understand that It’s very hard when you’re that busy to run smoothly however for the price the dishes are and the wait time we went through, a better experience was expected and would have been appreciated. Our server did apologize for the mix up and was very polite however the situation wasn’t rectified at all. After this experience I will not be returning.

Date: July 4, 2026 Time: Approximately 7:18 p.m. ⭐ 1 Star My wife, our 10-month-old baby, and I visited Olive Garden at Vaughan Mills today. We got in line at around 4:00 p.m. and officially registered at 4:18 p.m. We received a text confirmation with our queue information, and we were told the wait would be approximately 3.5 hours. We understood the restaurant had just opened and would be busy, so we spent time in the mall and returned at around 7:18 p.m. When we came back, the hostess, Leah, asked for my name and phone number but said she couldn’t find us in the system. I immediately showed her the text message confirming our place in line, including our queue number. Despite having clear proof that we had registered, she repeatedly said there was nothing she could do because she couldn’t find us in the system. Another hostess then came over and said she remembered registering us earlier. She checked my phone number again, but Leah still insisted that we should not be seated because she couldn’t see us in the system. I don’t understand how we could have received the official queue text and progressed to queue number 35 if we had never been registered. To make matters worse, we were then told we would have to wait another 1.5 hours, even though we had originally been quoted a 3.5-hour wait. I understand that a newly opened restaurant will be busy, and I was willing to wait. What I cannot accept is poor customer service and a complete lack of effort to resolve an obvious issue. We had our 10-month-old baby with us, and another hostess even suggested that we should be accommodated because she remembered registering us. Despite that, Leah continued insisting that we should not help us because she couldn’t find us in the system. As I am writing this review, my family and I are still sitting near the front of the restaurant, waiting to be seated for another 1.5 hours. We have already waited more than three hours, and this entire experience has been extremely frustrating. If management is reading this, please review this situation and provide better training for your front desk staff. If a customer can show an official queue confirmation text received at 4:18 p.m., along with their queue information, staff should investigate the issue instead of simply refusing service. The obvious question is: How did we receive the official text message and advance in the queue if we had never been registered? I am also attaching screenshots of the official text message, the registration time, and my queue number to support everything described in this review. Leah’s attitude throughout the interaction was dismissive, rude, and unhelpful. We were patient and understanding of the long wait, but the way we were treated was unacceptable. I hope management takes this seriously and improves the way customers are treated so that other families don’t have to go through the same experience.

I had one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had at Olive Garden and honestly regret going. First, we waited 3 and a half hours just to be seated, only to be placed in a horrible seating area for two people. After finally sitting down, it took another 10 minutes before our server even acknowledged us. Things only got worse from there. My girlfriend specifically stated that she cannot eat pork, yet the server still placed a dish containing pork directly in front of her. It was apparently meant for someone else, but the server handed it to the wrong person and we had to figure out the mistake ourselves before she accidentally ate it. That is a serious safety concern and completely unacceptable. Our drinks arrived with no straws and we were only given one water for two people. The food took forever to arrive, and the server clearly did not know the menu. We were never given breadsticks until we asked, and then somehow we ended up being charged incorrectly for entrees we barely even received. In the end, we basically only had soup and bread because the order was such a mess. Another server eventually had to come explain what had gone wrong because our original server could not handle the situation properly. To make matters worse, we could literally hear the server talking nearby about how badly she messed up the order and asking coworkers what to do while we sat there listening. The customer service was extremely unprofessional. The takeout was another disaster. I noticed there were specific containers for soups, but instead of using the correct bowl, the server packed our soup into pasta containers and used the soup containers for dessert. By the time we got home, everything had spilled everywhere. It honestly felt lazy because all she had to do was grab the proper containers. The restaurant itself also felt poorly maintained. There were flies everywhere, and the women’s bathroom had no toilet paper — we literally had to go into the closet ourselves to get some. Overall, the entire experience was chaotic, stressful, and disappointing. I don’t know if the issue is poor training, poor management, or hiring people without customer service skills, but something is seriously wrong here.
