    I was picking up an order for my family and my in-laws on my bike and was struggling to get it all loaded. Without my asking for help, Mike, the GM, came out and offered me a recycling bag — it saved my day. I'm a stubborn guy and planning isn't my strong suit, hence trying to haul all of it on a bike in the first place, so I was grateful for the assist. Small gestures go a long way, but noticing someone needs help before they ask is rare these days. Mike deserves the recognition.

    Went with the crew Friday night after our usual walk around the block, and the honey garlic ribs were falling off the bone just like I remembered from years ago. Our server kept the fries coming and never made us feel rushed even though we camped out at the table chatting for almost two hours. The whole place had that easy diner-meets-pub vibe, wood paneling and all, which made it feel like a proper Friday hangout spot. Parking out back was a nice bonus too since the main street was packed that night.

    had an excellent experience of customer experience at Pape Swiss Chalet just over a month ago. I had received a free reward card for a quarter chicken dinner (as a bonus when l bought a $50 gift card — at a different SC — around Father’s Day). I decided to use it at the Pape location around the end of July, before it expired, since I happened to be in the area…but l was told at the cash that the card had zero balance on it (as if it had been used already)! I explained had used neither the $50 gift card nor the free bonus card since l got them in June — I still had them both put aside, with the original receipt. The manager was nearby, came to the cash, & confirmed what her employee had discovered. I explained my story to them both, but l also accepted the fact that they found an issue. I decided I would go back to the original store, tell them about it, & find out what had happened. (I still had the original receipt & both cards, with me.) However, while acknowledging what the cash register showed, the manager seemed to understand I was not lying/ just trying to reuse a “free meal” bonus that was expired. She generously offered to honour the offer, & provide me with the meal, without charge — even though she didn’t know me, & the card didn’t come from the Pape! I said I could take it to the other store, but she worked to fix a problem that wasn’t even of her making. She didn’t have to — but she chose to. I tried to give her cash when she brought the food, but she did not want to accept it. (I did the tip!) I was so respected to know she was treating me as a sincere person who was honest in saying what had happened. She gave me the benefit of the doubt, & for that, probably even more than the meal, l was grateful. I asked her name so I could write a positive review here…so, thank you, Christine! You offered me customer service at its finest; to your employees, you offered a model of great management anyone would be proud to work for. I am so appreciative that people like you are still out there! I’ve been out of the city so I haven’t had a chance to go back — but l decided Pape is my new Swiss Chalet store. The food is tasty, the atmosphere welcoming, & the staff is lovely, right from the top. Thanks again!!

    Came by for take-out earlier as it is just right across the TTC station. Chicken here is what I expected as usual from other location I've been to. Soo tasty and the ribs is mouth watering ,so good. The new Apple butter sauce is a must to try, It won't disappoint your expectation, first time I tried as my usual sauce is BBQ. Overall customer service quick and efficient. I totally can recommend this location to visit.

    I placed an order on the swiss chalet app on Aug 14 around 11:40am. Was tracking the order and headed to the side entrance like noted in my order to meet the driver around 12:30pm. The driver never arrived. Called customer service and they forwarded me to the store. Store said they would call me back and did not return my call until 1:30 pm and was told that Door Dash was going to contact me directly. Was never contacted by Door dash. The store called me back at around 2:10pm to see if Door dash contacted me, told her no and she offered to re-do our order and send it express. By 3pm the order still has not arrived. We waited close to 4hrs and was only offered apple pie as compensation. The app is not a reliable way of tracking the order, as Swiss Chalet uses Door Dash and it does not give car details to look out for through the app and I could not reach the driver as well. After submitting a complaint online, recieved a call from the store and asked them to refund me. Was told that it would be processed and to allow 5-7 business days to recieve the refund. It has now been 2 WEEKS and still no refund. I called the store 2 days ago to follow-up and was told my message would be given to the manager. I have not received a call back from the manager to discuss the issue! This is by far the worst customer service experience from Swiss Chalet I have ever experienced.
