    We made a reservation for Mother's Day dinner at Pickle Barrel at Yonge and Eglinton. We had to secure our reservation with a credit card and were required to confirm the reservation on Mother's Day. When we arrived the man at the desk checked that we had a reservation then advised us to go somewhere else for dinner. He told us that they accepted multiple walk in customers and no longer could honour our reservation. There would not be any servers available for 40 minutes to an hour. We could sit at a table in the bar area but would not receive any service not even drinks for at least 40 minutes and our food order would not be taken for at least an hour. It seems Pickle Barrel does not understand what reservations are. This was Mother's Day where else could we go for a sit down meal that evening after being turned away from our reserved table. Other restaurants would have long line ups or no tables that were not already reserved. Our only choice was fast food or take out also with a long wait. Pickle Barrel should receive a -5 review but 1 is the lowest that I can give. I do not recommend this restaurant for any special occasion...it is completely unreliable and they do not respect their customers. They expect us to confirm our reservation twice and then they do not honour it upon arrival even though they can see we are on the reservation list and have arrived on time. Shame on you Pickle Barrel!! 10 thumbs down!!!

    I was there for Mother’s Day with my family when we came it was 12:10pm, we received drink and waited for the rest of my family. At 12:30 our waitress took our order. We wait 1 hour and a half for our food! Which was ridiculous, three of the people of my family received there appetizers one and half hours later and I had to beg my server to please bring my 2 year old daughter her pasta because she was hungry! I don’t understand how the kitchen can’t make a simple pasta?? I been to this location before many time with my daughter and have never experienced this service before. Waiting almost 2 hours for food? Also the other server being disrespectful to other customers and management who know what they were doing? At the end we decided to leave because it was already disappointing and the day was ruined for myself. This is the first Mother’s Day I had to celebrate and I was not happy I love the pickle barrel but you all need a plan was this happens or communicate With your customers someone myself who works in a restaurant industry I get it but you should have a backup plan? There only they that came good out of this was the filipino manager with the glasses came to us to apologize but honestly I don’t know if I’ll be returning I’m just don’t want to have to make my daughter wait.

    The service here is horrible! I booked a reservation and arrived 10 mins early. I let them know we were early but we had a reservation, they told us the wait is 30 minutes for a table. I asked why we had to wait 30 mins if our reservation was in 10, they said they were busy. We left, to decide if we wanted to wait. I called them at the time of our reservation to see if a table was ready, they said no it’s still a 30 minute wait. When i asked why they accepted reservations if they had no tables available, they then told me it’s the manager accepting reservations and when i asked to speak to the manager they put me on hold for 15 minutes before I hung up. Overall horrible experience considering we booked a reservation to avoid wait times and got no resolution when asked to speak to a manager.

    Very disappointing terrible experience, especially on Mother’s Day. 👎👎👎 I came here with my family for mother's day. Really bad experience i ever had. We had a male server, I seen him taking other tables, I mean party tables but he never came to our table not even once and asked if everything are good. We waited for like more than 1 hr. We didnt even eat our desserts that comes with mother's day course meal. We asked for our desserts to go as we waited long enough to the manager and he bought it back in togo boxes with the ice cream melting in it!!!! Should it put in a separate container. Only my son ate his dessert that comes with the kid's meal. The manager was running around not follow up with our servers tables, not even asking how we are doing. He's just running around not knowing what is he doing. I was very upset for this service. My son was suppose to get a drink with his meal but the male server forgot about his drink. My son was so upset. It happen again before but this is the worst service ever. 😒 😡 👎

    Very disappointing experience, especially on Mother’s Day. We waited about 15–20 minutes at the entrance before anyone even acknowledged we were there. Once seated, the service unfortunately did not improve. My mother’s drink was completely forgotten and had to be requested multiple times before it finally arrived — without a single apology. Throughout the entire meal, our dirty plates stayed on the table and were never cleared. Nobody checked in on us once to ask if everything was okay or if we needed anything. When it came time to pay, I asked for the bill and ended up waiting again. The server eventually brought the payment machine, handed it to me, and immediately walked away. The physical buttons on the machine were not working, but nobody explained that it was touchscreen-only. So I sat there awkwardly trying to use the buttons like an idiot, waiting even longer, until she finally came back and casually said, “Oh yeah, it’s touchscreen.” At that point, it honestly just felt like nobody cared. No apology for the forgotten drink, no acknowledgment of the delays, no effort whatsoever to recover the experience. For a restaurant that occupies such a large space in the neighborhood and charges premium prices, I expected far better service and basic attention to customers. With so many restaurants struggling right now, experiences like this unfortunately explain why some places lose customers.
