Went here for a friend's birthday dinner and really did not like the guy serving us. First, they gave the birthday girl a drink with a bug in it. Sure tiny bugs flies into things all the time. When we brought it up to the server, he did not care whatsoever, and then we saw him trying to fish the bug out. When he saw that he was being watched, that was when he decides to make a new one. When he was trying our orders, he would ask if we were ready, and we would confirm, and then walk away, do something else, come back and confirm if we were ready before walking away again to do something else. And this happened about 3 to 4 times. I understand if it was because we weren't ready or responding or something, but multiple people confirmed with him that we were ready. And when he finally came to take our order, he touched all of us to get our attention. But we were fully paying attention to him. When I asked him to repeat himself because the music is way too loud in there, he sounded really annoyed that I had asked him that. While he was taking our order, he asked if we wanted cheese with our pastas, and nowhere did it say on the menu that it was an upcharge, and he didn't say that either. After the dinner, one of my friends said she asked him and he said it was $9. Turns out the cheese was $10 and it wasn't even good. Another friend said she said no to the cheese, but he kept pushing for her to get the cheese even after saying she can't have any due to dietary restrictions. Two different servers helped us to the table and bring us a take out box, and they were such much friendlier and kinder than him, and it wasn't like they were going above and beyond. Just basic friendliness. I found the food to be okay, but most of us really did not like the food. They also didn't give us water except for the very beginning and that also took a while to come.
Came for Happy Hour. Arrived a few moments early, so started with a $5 mimosa and ordered our son's kid's meal, the Grilled Cheese on SourDough with Tomato Soup. It was unreal!! It also came with a drink and veggies to start!
We got the single nachos, which were far from plain, even though we didn't add meat. The jalapeño creama was unreal!!
The Tuna Poke Bowl was a perfect blend of all the best things that make poke!
It was such a hearty portion.
Our cocktails, were Bullet Proof Lemonade and Espresso Martini - bullet proof was 10/10 - espresso martini 9/10 (very rich and strong, well done!)
Max served us and did a great job!
WANT TO RUIN YOUR PERFECT DAY? COME HERE.
We ordered the Atlantic salmon, chicken à la plancha and beer and waited over an hour for our food. After 40–45 minutes, our server told us there was an issue in the kitchen. We said it was okay. We were sitting directly under the AC, and I was freezing. Only after we had already been waiting for a full hour did a woman with glasses and long hair come over. She didn’t introduce herself or apologize — she simply repeated that there were problems in the kitchen.
I asked if we could move away from the AC. She repeatedly said there was AC everywhere and nothing could be done. I suggested sitting outside, and she said yes — but we had to pay the bill first, while still waiting for our food. So we paid.
Five minutes later, our food arrived, but we didn’t start eating because we had BEEN TOLD BY HER we could move. Our server had no idea what we were talking about. I asked the woman again, politely, and she rolled her eyes and muttered under her breath. While moving our plates to another table by the window, she continued showing her dissatisfaction.
That was my breaking point. I told her not to be rude and not to give me an attitude because I did absolutely nothing to deserve being treated that way.
I asked who the manager was. She sarcastically said she was the manager. When I asked for her name, she refused and said she would bring me her business card. She never did. Another employee later told me her name was ALEXIS.
That employee listened to everything and was surprised that our order had taken over an hour, especially since she said their maximum wait time was 35 minutes. She offered a refund or credit. I chose the refund because I will not be coming back.
By then, I finally ate some of the food — cold, after all the waiting and having to explain everything. And unfortunately, the food itself wasn’t good either.
And here’s what really bothered me: the wait wasn’t even the worst part. Mistakes happen. What was unacceptable was being treated as if I was asking for some ridiculous favor when I was simply asking for basic courtesy.
I did absolutely nothing to deserve that attitude. If the problem is on the restaurant’s side, take responsibility and find a solution instead of making the customer feel like the problem. And when things go wrong, basic respect and proper communication are the bare minimum in hospitality!!!!
Walking to the GO, heading home from work, I pass the back of Kellys Landing encountering the enticing smell of grilled steak. Last night I finally decided to check it out. Kellys Landing did not disappoint, my Striploin with Prawns was delicious, the steak was tender and juicy, combined with the subtle garlic flavor of the prawns, grilled vegetables and fingerling potatoes, it was one of the best meals I've ever had. My wife was equally impressed with the Baby Back Ribs entree. To top it off, as we were celebrating our anniversary, we were treated to a scrumptious Sticky Coffee Cake for dessert. Service was excellent; our waitress, Abby, was friendly, personable and attentive. A shout out to the manager who came by to check how we were enjoying our meal.
Started my search online and found this restaurant online via search.
The menu had a great selection, especially with gluten free options and food sensitive options. The online reservation was easy, but I didn't receive a quick confirmation so I messaged them on Facebook and they responded with the confirmation promptly.
It took us 2.5 hours to drive there immediately before a RUSH concert so I expected them to be completely busy. Fortunately we were able to call and get through to let them know we would be 45 minutes late.
Upon arrival, we were checked in and seated very quickly, with Chen taking our orders promptly. Took a few minutes to get drinks as expected, but the food came quickly.
I have so many food issues and they were spectacular in helping me out, including a waitress, literally running back to my table when she told me the cheese was parm, when in fact it was aged cheddar (fortunately I can eat both).
I was event and marketing manager for a similar restaurant across the street from Copps Coliseum in Hamilton, so I know exactly what it takes to feed and keep a crowd happy. Especially before your patrons go out for what will likely be one of the best nights of their lives (Yeah RUSH!!!! #fiftlysomethingtour #loveneil).
Aside from the service, experience and outstanding food, was the value. The price.
In a day when the government is doing NOTHING to bring down prices, it's nice to have an affordable place to go when you don't have a pension or savings like many Canadians.....
You guys did amazing, keep up your awesome work, despite slim margins!
