- NNNatAug 7, 20261.0TL;DR: I know this review is a little late (I forgot to write it after the World Cup Final), but the experience has stuck with me. The food and atmosphere couldn’t make up for the disorganized seating, inconsistent policies, poor viewing setup, and rude treatment from both staff and security. We were a group of 16, and before arriving, three of us called to confirm the seating policy. We were all told the same thing: 10 out of 16 people needed to be present before we could be seated. When we arrived, a few friends were still a minute or two away, so we asked to be seated at two tables of eight instead. There were already enough of us to start, and we even showed the staff our friends’ live locations to prove they were almost there. Despite being told otherwise over the phone, staff suddenly insisted everyone had to be present and were dismissive throughout the interaction. When about 10 of us had arrived, we noticed two empty tables of eight side by side and politely asked if we could split between them while waiting for the last few people. We were told no. Within minutes, one of those tables was given to another group, forcing us to sit separately. It was frustrating because the issue could have easily been avoided if the restaurant had simply followed the policy they had confirmed multiple times. The viewing experience was disappointing as well. For a venue showing the World Cup Final, the TVs were small and difficult to see from our table, making it hard to enjoy the match. The worst part came during halftime. My partner and I stood off to the side near a larger TV, making sure we weren’t blocking anyone. As we walked back, a security guard stopped us and asked if we had been using the washroom together. We explained we had only been watching the halftime show and even said he could check the cameras. Instead, he replied, “I don’t need to check the cameras. Why are you giving me attitude?” We were shocked by the accusation and how unprofessionally it was handled. I understand the World Cup Final is an incredibly busy day, but we were patient and respectful throughout the evening. We simply expected the restaurant to honor what they told us over the phone and to treat customers with basic courtesy. Unfortunately, this visit was memorable for all the wrong reasons.
