  I visited d|bar tonight as a solo guest and unfortunately had one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had at a Four Seasons property. I walked in around 9:40 PM and immediately told the staff at the entrance that I was dining alone and wanted a table so I could have something to eat. I was also completely willing to sit at the bar for some time if a table wasn’t available. What was particularly disappointing was that there were multiple empty tables clearly visible. When I asked about them, I was told that the kitchen was closed and that those tables were not available. Yet, shortly afterward, other guests were seated at some of those same tables. That made the situation extremely uncomfortable and left me questioning why I was being treated differently simply because I was a solo diner. I have travelled extensively and have stayed at and visited Four Seasons properties around the world, and I have never experienced anything like this. As a solo guest, I understand that restaurants have seating policies and closing times. What I don’t understand is being given an explanation that clearly didn’t seem to apply consistently to other guests who arrived or were seated afterward. I don’t make accusations like this lightly, but the way I was treated made me feel singled out and, frankly, discriminated against based on my appearance/background. Whether intentional or not, that is how the experience came across. For a property carrying the Four Seasons name, I expected a much higher standard of hospitality, professionalism and consistency. Instead, I walked away feeling unwelcome simply because I was dining alone. I have had excellent experiences at Four Seasons properties around the world. This was, by far, the worst Four Seasons experience I have ever had. I sincerely hope management reviews what happened tonight, including the seating situation and how solo guests are being treated. A guest should not have to wonder whether they are being denied a table for reasons unrelated to the restaurant’s actual availability.

  We had such a wonderful experience at d|bar, and Bobby truly made our evening extra special! He was incredibly warm, attentive and professional throughout our visit. He consistently checked in on us, anticipated everything we needed and made us feel genuinely welcomed. The dishes were delicious, beautifully presented and almost too pretty to eat. The atmosphere was already stunning, but Bobby’s exceptional service elevated the entire experience. Thank you, Bobby, we’ll definitely be returning!

  Dream bar.... pure class, pure mastery of ambience, flavour, and magic. Thank you <3 <3 Erin was such a lovely classy woman to talk with and whom recommended I try the fig Negroni. It was truly the best Negroni I have ever had. Cheers :) Will be back :) :)

  My family and I have been coming to Dbar regularly for quite some time but this visit felt noticeably different in the best possible way. From the moment we walked in, there was a different atmosphere, a different energy, and a level of elegance and etiquette that immediately stood out. As we sat at our table, we kept noticing and telling each other how something is different. The entire staff seemed to be performing at a higher level, as though they had all received renewed training and guidance. We saw old as well as new faces. It was such a noticeable and pleasant change that we eventually asked our waiter if the management had changed and indeed, it had. Thank God for the new manager, Guillaume, who has come from France and has truly elevated this place that we already love so much. Without going into too much detail, there is something incredibly refreshing about experiencing genuine hospitality, respect, comfort, and attention to the customer. This is now a Four Seasons experience and this is the kind of experience we need more of in Toronto. It’s not just about the food you have but it’s about how you feel when you walk through the door and how you are treated throughout your entire visit. Chapeau bas Guillaume and the entire staff!
