Like an edible love letter to tradition, the beef tartare is a masterclass of refinement on classic taste. The beef is impeccably fresh, finely minced, and dressed with chives, diced shallots, pickled shallots, shimeji and pearl onions. The microgreens add a fresh lift, while a jammy quail egg yolk brings a rich, luxurious note. A gentle mayo dressing binds the ingredients with a subtle tang, allowing the beef’s natural umami to shine. On the side, some crisp gem lettuce offers a refreshing palate cleanser, and the toasted crostini is perfectly tempered - crispy without being intrusive. I found myself lost in the decadence of the Pain Perdu, which is like a romantic dance between sweet and savory. The pullman loaf, with crust removed, is toasted just enough for a gentle crisp while retaining a soft, chewy interior. The seared foie gras adds richness without greasiness, harmonizing beautifully with a lightly boozy Grand Marnier jus studded with diced apples that still hold a delicate bite. A smear of whipped mascarpone on a white chocolate crisp provides creamy texture and pleasant crunch, and an apt prelude to dessert. Bliss packaged into a bite-sized profiterole, the airy choux hides a silky milk chocolate ganache, enriched by layers of salted caramel and dark chocolate drizzle. Crushed hazelnuts and a thin chocolate cracker add a nutty, textural counterpoint, and this interplay between creamy, chewy, and crunchy makes this a refined and indulgent dessert.

Oh my goodness, I think I’ve found my new happy place ✨ From the moment you walk into the Four Seasons, everything just feels so incredibly chic and dreamlike. We came here for a late brunch & the lighting in the dining room is actually perfection - my photos didn't even need a filter 📸🌸
The French toast was almost too pretty to eat (but of course, I did & it was delicious!) & the service was so beyond sweet. They really make you feel like a princess. It’s the perfect spot to dress up with your besties and just enjoy the most beautiful vibes. If you’re looking for a place that’s pure aesthetic and total luxury, you need to be here! My heart is so full.
April 25th, 2026 - Booked the tasting menu for my boyfriend’s birthday through the Four Seasons website, which clearly states that the price includes taxes and gratuity. (See below) However, when the bill arrived, that was not reflected.
I raised this at the restaurant and was asked to provide proof, after which the bill was adjusted, but still incorrectly. This created unnecessary confusion around the final amount and tip, and made for an uncomfortable end to what should have been a seamless experience.
I was later contacted by the General Manager, Marissa, but instead of resolving the issue, the response was dismissive. I was told that staff may not be aware of what is stated on their own website, which is surprising for a restaurant operating under the Four Seasons brand. The situation was described as “graciously compensated,” despite the bill still not being accurate. I was actually shocked on how unprofessionally she handled the situation.
At this level, both clarity and accountability matter. Unfortunately, neither was demonstrated here. Food was decent, but overall experience did not meet expectations. I would highly recommend D bar or Sotto Sotto as the service and food / drinks are always impeccable.
I wouldn’t recommend coming here if your main goal is to enjoy the food. The setting is beautiful and service started off well, but the experience fell short where it mattered. We came for lunch and barely touched our mains, and no one checked in or asked if anything was off. For a place at this level, that lack of attentiveness was surprising. To top it off, the ‘happy birthday’ dessert arrived partially frozen. Overall, it felt more like a place for ambiance than for a truly satisfying meal. Hugely disappointing…
Nestled in the Four Seasons hotel. Service was attentive and polished throughout, very much in keeping with the Four Seasons setting. The atmosphere is elegant and intimate, a "cute" space that feels special without being stuffy.
On the food front, the beef tartare was a refined, well-executed dish, though it could benefit from a bit more mustard seed to give it that sharp, textural kick that really makes tartare sing. A minor tweak, but one that would elevate it from good to great.
The undisputed star of the meal was the Eggs Benedict specifically, the pastry it was served on. Rather than a standard English muffin, the kitchen opts for a croissant-style base that was beautifully light and perfectly crispy. A clever, inspired choice that set the dish apart.
The steak and eggs held up well,a solid, satisfying plate and the hash brown alongside it was a pleasant highlight. The sausage, however, was forgettable; nothing that distinguishes itself from what you'd find elsewhere.
To drink, the matcha latte was excellent, made with a generous hand on the matcha, resulting in a bold, earthy cup rather than the diluted afterthought you often get.
The verdict: At this price point, Café Boulud is a destination brunch worth trying at least once, especially for fans of Chef Boulud's culinary touch. A few dishes are truly memorable; others leave room to grow. Come for the croissant Benny, stay for the matcha and maybe ask for extra mustard seeds on the tartare.
