Came back to give this restaurant another go. I was there a couple of years ago and it nothing to write home about. Fast forward to now and something changed. Went there for lunch with friends. We had the guac made at the table, which was fun. The guac was kinda standard. The restaurant offers and assortment of free hot sauces but any other toppings like salsa, sour cream, etc for tacos are extra. All of us ordered an assortment of tacos and they were delicious! It was a pleasant surprise. Vibes at the restaurant were good. Service was prompt and friendly however my only critique is that our server was trying to 'rush' us out quickly, even though the restaurant wasn't busy.
Had a great first experience at Anejo with some friends! We started with the summer ceviche and the tableside guac, which was easily the highlight of the meal. It was fresh, delicious, and fun to watch being made. I had the molcajete de carne, which was piping hot and a sight to see, and very satisfying. We wrapped up with the tres leches cake and churros, and both desserts were outstanding also.
We were really impressed with the customer service. We were very well taken care of from start to finish, and everyone was so attentive, and we felt like family eating there. All in all, it made for a fantastic dining experience. Looking forward to coming back soon!
I had high expectations for Añejo, but unfortunately my experience was very disappointing.
The highlight of the meal was the Tableside Guacamole (4/5). The chips were crispy and fresh, and the guacamole was freshly made, flavorful, and delicious.
Everything else was a letdown.
The Smoked Striploin (1/5) was one of the worst steak dishes I’ve ever had. The meat was tough, lacked flavor, and tasted anything but fresh. The rice seemed old, and the black beans didn’t taste freshly made either.
The Beef Quesabirria was also disappointing. The beef didn’t taste fresh and had a strange flavor that made it difficult to enjoy.
The service only added to the frustration. Our meals arrived about 20 minutes apart, so my friend’s food was cold by the time mine was finally served. To make matters worse, we were seated under a spot where water was dripping from the ceiling, and it stained my dress.
The manager walked by after the issue and simply apologized, saying that maybe next time she could offer something. Considering everything that went wrong, that response felt dismissive and did little to resolve the situation.
The guacamole was the only reason I’m giving this restaurant two stars. Unfortunately, between the poor food quality, slow service, and unacceptable seating conditions, I won’t be returning.
I would not recommend this at all to anyone.. and definitely not going back here..
A big shout out to Janice and the rest of the staff for providing such a memorable dining experience. From the front of the house to the kitchen, every aspect of our meal didn’t miss a beat.
With its delicious food, inviting atmosphere, and friendly, knowledgeable staff, this restaurant was definitely worth the visit—we'll be back again soon.

Had a horrible experience at this place tonight. The drink I ordered was watered down and there were problems with the food I ordered. I tried to speak to the manager to discuss the concerns. Instead of calmly and professionally trying to resolve the issue she started screaming at me, trying to intimidate me, threatening and insulting me. She literally said to me things like “I don't know if your brain is not working or your on the (Autism) spectrum but I am not repeating myself”. She refused to give me her name when asked and was insulting and threatening me so loud everyone in the building could hear. According to the Ontario Human Rights Code people are not supposed to be treated like this if they have disabilities. She clearly has no respect people that have disabilities and thinks she has the right to verbally and mentally abuse them. What kind of person makes fun of people with disabilities in this way and treat anyone like this. This is just some of the cruel vicious stuff she was saying to me.
Then after all her cruel and unprofessional conduct she starts screaming that I was cheap and did not leave a tip. Why would I leave a tip when I had problems with my order, the service and got verbally and mentally abused by the manager? Horrible person and horrible experience. Would avoid at all cost. Being white female and pregnant is not an excuse for being unprofessional, abusive and violating a customer’s human rights.
Since she made the all effort to disrespect, degrade and humiliate me because I had the sense to articulate my feedback on what I was served and my experience I am going to be happy to file a complaint with the Ontario Human Rights Commission and the liquor licensing board. According to you my brain is not working but the fact that the staff you manage failed to check my ID before they served me alcohol suggests you should focus less on harassing, threatening and insulting customers and more on doing your job if you don’t want to loose your liquor license. I look very young, like under 18 young so maybe this could be why she thought I would be bullied in to accepting poor quality drinks, food and service?
This Manager is a horrible person and unless this company is looking for a lawsuit from both employees and customers based your tolerance for her abusive and discriminatory treatment towards people living with disabilities and failure to ensure that your restaurant is following the liquor licensing regulations you might want to reconsider maintaining this employment relationship.
