This location is a complete disaster. We came in today and stood at the front entrance for 10 minutes with nobody there to greet us or even acknowledge us. The restaurant had empty tables everywhere, yet apparently nobody could be bothered to come to the front and seat customers. After waiting around and trying to find someone just so we could sit down and order food, a staff member finally came over. Instead of apologizing for leaving customers standing there unattended, she immediately started giving me attitude and lecturing me about how I was “supposed to wait at the front” until she decided to come get us. Seriously? We WERE waiting at the front. Nobody was there. I don’t need a lecture about restaurant rules after being ignored for 10 minutes. A simple “Sorry about the wait, I’ll get you seated” would have solved everything. Instead, she turned a basic seating situation into an unnecessary confrontation. I walked out. I’m not spending my money somewhere customers are ignored and then spoken to disrespectfully when they try to get service. The last time I visited this location it was already a mess, and somehow today’s experience was even worse. Horrible organization, horrible customer service, and a complete waste of time. I will not be returning to this location and absolutely do not recommend it.

We ordered our meal and it took 2 hours and 45 minutes to get delivered. We called to ask where the order was. We were given the phone number of the Swiss chalet. My husband called the restaurant. The girl asked all his information name, address, phone number etc. The person hung up on him. No discount was offered no apologies and no return call. Absolute nightmare....terrible. Definitely not impressed.

Ordered our food for curbside pickup. Big mistake!!! I am disabled, so sat in car waiting for food. 10 minutes after it should have been brought to car, I got fed up and went inside. Not easy as I am disabled and had to climb a large curb. Went inside, no one was around. Rang bell, and a girl shows up. Asked about my order and she said she didn't think they had it! Then found the order. I asked her about the curbside delivery and she said she didn't know anything about it as she just started her shift and the only other person was her manager, who was busy with something else! She said, do you want me to bring it out for you? Hello, I am disabled and use a cane so can't carry two bags and get down the big curb outside. Why offer curbside delivery if it is not available? I now understand why Swiss Chalet is gone from the Lower Mainland of B.C.

Swiss Chalet Thunder Bay was terrible. We ordered 4 meals with rotisserie chicken and all 4 were delivered to our hotel raw. When we tried to call the store, no one answered for over 30 minutes. Then when we tried to go through the automated options, the operator transferred us to the store and they hung up on us. Given that we also had 2 kids meals and over $150 spent on inedible food, this was a disastrous meal, waste of money and had the potential to make us all sick on our road trip. Avoid THIS restaurant at all costs.

By far the WORST DINE IN experience!!! At first, when we entered, we waited about 10 minutes. The staff were clearly looking at us, but no one came to greet us. One of the staff were cleaning, she saw me, and I even walked toward her. She still continued cleaning. Only after she finished did she come and take us to our table. After we sat down, we were going through the menu. In any normal restaurant, someone comes within a few minutes to offer water or ask for drinks. Here, no one came for almost 20 minutes. They were just doing their own stuff while we sat there waiting. Not even water was served. Then our waitress, Tracy , came to take our order. We were a group of three and ordered drinks. When the drinks came, she just placed them on the table carelessly and basically threw the straws on the table instead of placing them properly. We also ordered chicken spring rolls, and they were completely burnt. They looked nothing like what was shown in the menu. In the picture, they show proper pieces cut nicely, but what we got was broken into multiple pieces and burnt on one side. It was very unappetizing. At that point, we were already done with the place and just wanted to leave. Tracy was nearby cleaning a table. I said “excuse me” the first time, and she just tilted her head slightly toward me without even looking at me properly and continued doing her work. Any normal person would assume she didn’t hear. So I called her a second time. I’m not stupid—if she had heard me the first time, she could have at least acknowledged me. When someone doesn’t respond at all, of course I will call again. The second time, she responded in a RUDE tone and said, “I’ll be with you in a second. I’m dealing with something right now. I have something in my hands right now.” After that, she still took another 5–10 minutes, finishing her own tasks. Even when she was coming to our table, she kept stopping to adjust other tables and chairs instead of coming directly to us after being called. When we asked for separate bills, the attitude continued. I didn’t want to tip because of the service, and she was rude about that as well. She told my friend that if we didn’t want to tip, she could just skip it, in a very disrespectful tone. This entire experience felt extremely unprofessional and disrespectful. I understand people can be busy, but this level of neglect, delay, and attitude is not acceptable in any restaurant. I have worked in a restaurant myself, and when a customer calls, you acknowledge them properly and respond with basic respect. There should be no place in customer service for someone with this kind of attitude, as it reflects poorly on the business and drives customers away.
