Went into the Regent McDonald's to pick up a quick order to take home to watch the Jays game this rainy Sunday. Should have taken the filthy buildup on the door as we entered as an indication to turn around go somewhere else. We placed our order at the self serve kiosk where I hit take out. Get our receipt and proceed to find a spot to sit and wait. Red flag number 2 as we approached a table and interrupted a swarm of little flies. Not one or two houseflies literally too many to count. We went over to the high top and waited. Next red flag, all the ready to pack fries under the heat lamp. There were perhaps 5 orders in queue but at least 15 orders of fries just sitting there degrading. McD's fries are best when served up hot and fresh. We noticed that rather than call out the order numbers they were calling the order contents...eg Big Mac no pickles. If you were not right in front you would not hear the order. He then called the order number and no one came so he put it aside. Next order called and off went the customer with their order only to come back within 2 minutes. Here's the next red flag. Wrong order. He ordered a chicken sandwich with habenero sauce extra habenero. This is important because what was he given? Big Mac no pickles. Order corrected or so we thought and off he went. Back comes the customer. Order still not right. Off they go to "fix" it again. More time passes and I see a tray brought out and say to my husband I bet that is ours. Sure enough they call our order number and I proceed to the cash and say this is take out. He then tells my husband they have no strawberry milkshakes only chocolate and vanilla. That was the last straw. You don't wait till the order is sitting there to let the customer know they need to substitute. We said that's enough. Cancel the order give us our money back we are done. Guy could not figure out how to do the refund or needed some help and off he disappeared. At least 3 min passed and he comes back to let us know that the magic strawbrerry milkshake cow had finally delivered and lo and behold we have a strawberry shake our order is complete and we can go. Big huge mistake. I said to the guy and meanwhile our food has been sitting and getting cold. He ever so generously gave us "fresh" fries from the pile of fries sitting under the heat lamp. Fresh my ass. We just resigned ourselves to sub mediocrity at this point as we didn't want to miss our game. What a mistake that was. I tried a "fresh" fry in the car and it was awful. Got home and food was cold. Big surprise. I gave 1 star because 0 is not an option. We left and that poor customer was still waiting while another customer who had pre ordered and was there to pick up and there before us was also still waiting. Not one apology given.

Management put a code pad the door to the restrooms and put up AI generated signs informing you on what to do about it, absolutely unacceptable for a family restaurant to do

The Google Business Profile says that this location is open for 24 hours, with access inside between the hours of 5am and 12am. We walked in at 11:05pm, and were promptly and rudely asked to leave by staff. The doors were unlocked, and other patrons were inside and not asked to leave. We are all adults in our late 20’s/early 30’s, were not drunk, loud, or causing issues. If the access hours are not correct on the Google Business Profile, which shows as having been updated 4 weeks ago, I urge you to review and update accordingly. I understand that this is a fast-food restaurant, but the lack of customer service training is quite literally abhorrent. Service jobs aren’t easy, and I completely understand becoming overwhelmed, but that does not negate the rudeness we experienced on absolutely no basis.

It was very busy, but we got our food in great time. It was fresh and tasty and the drive thru staff were very polite.

I had the chance (tap-tap-tap) to stop in at the Regent St location (tap-tap-tap) several times (tap-tap-tap) over the last two weeks. Each time (tap-tap-tap) was not without its complications. The food (tap-tap-tap) was good and the order (tap-tap-tap) correct, but a damper was left making me decide (tap-tap-tap) to not visit (tap-tap-tap) the Regent St location anymore. Each time my vehicle was approached (tap-tap-tap) and intercepted before/during/after I placed my (tap-tap-tap) order. This was very (tap-tap-tap) uncomfortable. It’s not a (tap-tap-tap) one-off anymore, it is the (tap-tap-tap) norm. Driving up to the order screen (tap-tap-tap), while making one’s order (tap-tap-tap), while picking up one’s order (tap-tap-tap), while trying to eat parked in the lot (tap-tap-tap), there is someone clearly suffering from extreme addiction asking for money. Ive offered food in case they are hungry, but they’d prefer the cash. It’s out of control. It’s such a negative experience (tap-tap-tap) visiting this location, that I won’t go back. In the lane next to the drive-through lane one woman stumbling and weaving in the dark under the influence almost got hit by a truck driving to get out of the lot. I don’t know what the (tap-tap-tap) solution is, but until there is one, I will (tap-tap-tap) patronize another location.
