Our server (I believe her name was Vanessa) today was swift and so polite despite it being very busy. She was not only courteous and sweet to our family, but to all of the tables around us! All three servers working were clearly working hard, despite how busy it was you can tell all three cared about everyone’s experience. The food was okay, clearly different in quality than the past but the service was so fantastic I can forgive it. Thank you Vanessa!

I have been a long-time fan of Swiss Chalet; however, my recent visits have been increasingly disappointing in terms of both food quality and service.
During my most recent visit to this location, I experienced a serious issue while eating the spring rolls. I bit into something hard that caused discomfort to my teeth, and upon inspection, I discovered a large bone inside—something that clearly should not have been present. I brought this to the attention of the waitress, who removed the item from the table.
A few minutes later, the manager approached me and, rather than offering an apology, asked in an unprofessional tone, “Yes, how can I help you?” Given the situation, I found this response inappropriate. When I indicated that there was nothing further needed, she stated that she would remove the spring rolls from the bill if I did not want a replacement. I agreed.
Unfortunately, the overall handling of the situation was disappointing. There was no genuine apology, no effort to resolve the issue appropriately, and no consideration of compensation for what was a significant mistake.
Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this location.

This experience raises serious concerns about both customer service and basic operations at this location.
An order was placed through Uber Eats and was unexpectedly fulfilled by this Scarborough location. When it arrived, the food was in an unmarked gray plastic bag with no Swiss Chalet branding, which immediately raised concerns about authenticity and safety.
We attempted to contact the restaurant approximately 30 times with no answer, despite the location being listed as open. Due to the lack of response, I drove roughly 30 minutes to the store in person just to verify whether the order was legitimate.
At the location, the manager (Jeff) was dismissive and unhelpful. Instead of addressing the concern, the response was essentially that it was “an Uber issue,” which completely ignored the actual problem. While inside, I called the store again and the phone did not ring at all, suggesting that incoming calls may have been muted or turned off. That is a serious operational failure.
Additionally, when I explained the inconvenience—wasted time, gas, and the need to physically come in just to get clarity—there was no effort made to provide any level of customer support or goodwill. The response was simply that nothing could be done because it was an Uber order.
Key issues:
* No answer to repeated customer calls during operating hours
* Phone system potentially disabled or ignored
* Dismissive and unprofessional management response
* No accountability or attempt to assist a concerned customer
* Lack of basic reassurance regarding food authenticity
This is not the level of service expected from a brand like Swiss Chalet. Situations like this should be handled with professionalism and care, not indifference.
I strongly recommend this location reviews its customer service practices and operational standards.Got it—here’s a corporate-tone review (not an email), structured to still hit head office standards while being appropriate for Google/Uber reviews:

Way too much salt in the rotissary chicken the past 3 times i ordered the 2 can dine for $19.99. Also the last 2 times i ordered take out i asked them to give us gravy instead of the swiss chalet sauce and they said yes even at the window and when we got home ,we checked and it was the chalet sauce. The worst is the salt in the chicken though

Today was the first time we went to this Swiss Chalet is about 10 years! Oh boy we were in for an eye opening experience! From the time we got there, it took about 10 mins for someone to come greet us and take us to a table. Then we got to the table and had to wait but no server came. After waiting another 15 mins, my husband went to ask if we can have a server?! Server came, wasn’t the greatest, but she took our order. Brought the apps. The no longer gives you the little plates for apps! We have to take our loaded perogies dripping with cheese and hold our hand under so it wouldn’t drip on our clothes. Then they hand no metal cutlery! They gave us plastic ones! When our Pepsi finished I had to go look for our server to ask for a refill! Our server would come and deal with the people around us and not even ask if we were ok. We ate as fast as we could to leave. The $100 that we spent on food here would’ve been better spent somewhere else.
