🍝❤️ Our First Visit to Olive Garden — A Night We’ll Never Forget 💍 We went to Olive Garden yesterday on its 5th opening day, and even though the wait was 2–3 hours, we can honestly say it was completely worth it. From the moment we got there, the staff were incredibly friendly, welcoming, and patient. We want to give a special thank you to our waitress, Kennedy, who took such great care of us throughout the evening. She was attentive, kind, and made sure we had everything we needed. Probably the best service we’ve had in a while! She was awesome! We also want to give a huge shoutout to JC, the manager, who was so welcoming and made us feel incredibly comfortable. And a special thank you to Sashan (we’re sorry if we spelled your name incorrectly!) for bringing us to our table and helping make our experience so welcoming from the beginning. We also had other members of the serving team checking in on us and helping take care of us throughout the evening. It was really nice seeing everyone work together as a team, and every interaction we had with the staff was positive. 🍽️ And the food! The food was really good. The calamari was delicious, the garden salad was fresh, and our entrée was definitely one of the highlights of the night. The bread was good as well, and then came the dessert which we had to take to go. Everything came together to make it a really enjoyable meal. But honestly, what made this night so special for us went beyond the food\. This was the first restaurant we went to after getting engaged. 💍❤️ When we told the staff that we had just gotten engaged, they congratulated us and were genuinely happy for us. That small gesture meant so much to us and made an already special night even more memorable. We also want to mention something that really stood out to us. We got in around 9:30 PM and didn’t leave until around 11:00 PM which was already past closing time. Despite how late it was, we never felt rushed once. The staff continued to take care of us, checked in on us, and allowed us to enjoy our meal and celebrate our engagement without ever making us feel like we needed to hurry. But everyone else’s too. That level of hospitality really meant a lot to us. One day, we’ll look back and remember this Olive Garden as the first place we went together after getting engaged. ❤️💍 That’s something that will always make this location special to us. To **Kennedy, JC, Sashan, and the entire Olive Garden team**, thank you for making our first visit such a memorable one. Opening a new restaurant is never easy, especially with a 2–3 hour wait and a busy opening period, but the kindness and effort from the staff really showed. We came for the food, but we’re leaving with a memory we’ll have forever. The wait was long, but it was absolutely worth it. We can’t wait to come back! 🍝❤️ ⭐ Our Ratings 👨‍🍳 Customer Service: 9/10 🪴 Decoration/Ambiance: 8/10 🍞 Bread: 7/10 🥗 Garden Salad: 7.7/10 🦑 Calamari: 8.6/10 🍝 Entrée: 9.4/10 🍰 Dessert: 10/10 🏆 Overall: 8.6/10 **Thank you again to the entire team for making such an important night for us even more special. ❤️💍🍝** Alyssa & Zachary Brown

I have never been so disappointed by a restaurant experience, especially one as well-known as Olive Garden. We arrived at 4:30 PM and weren’t seated until approximately 6:45 PM. We actually understood the wait because this is a new location, and we were willing to be patient. Unfortunately, the problems only started there. We ordered our food at 7:06 PM. The first basket of bread didn’t even arrive until about 25 minutes later. For a restaurant that is known for bread, soup, and salad, you would think those things would be brought out promptly and consistently. Then things became completely ridiculous. We went 1 hour and 45 minutes without a single drink refill. We also received no soup or salad refills, despite the fact that these are supposed to come with the meal. Meanwhile, we watched table after table that had arrived well after us get seated, receive their food, eat, and LEAVE while we were still sitting there wondering if anyone even remembered we existed. At that point, it genuinely felt like our table had been forgotten. And the worst part? This was my friend’s birthday. What was supposed to be a nice birthday celebration turned into hours of sitting around hungry, watching other customers receive the service we were waiting for. When my friend finally spoke to the manager, his response was essentially, “I’ll comp it, but I’m not going to fight and go back and forth for one table.” That attitude was honestly the final insult. Nobody was asking him to “fight.” We were asking for the basic level of service that every paying customer should receive. Comping the meal does not magically undo hours of waiting, being ignored, and having a birthday celebration ruined. Mistakes happen. Being busy happens. A new restaurant having growing pains happens. But being forgotten for nearly two hours while watching customers who arrived after you get served is unacceptable. And the manager’s attitude made an already terrible experience even worse. I would seriously think twice before choosing this location for a special occasion. If this is how they treat customers celebrating birthdays, I would hate to see how they treat everyone else. Olive Garden, you didn’t just have a bad night — you ruined someone’s birthday and then acted like it wasn’t worth going back and forth over. That’s not customer service.

Woohoo, Olive Garden is back in Ottawa!! I know, I know, this isn’t “real” Italian, but I still love it. We visited August 13th, the 3rd day of operation. We checked in at 4pm and had 15 groups ahead of us. You can monitor your status on the open table link they the hostess sends you. Our wait time ended up being just under 30 minutes. We were seated at a nice corner table. Being brand new, the restaurant has a nice modern look, far more appealing than the Watertown NY which probably has not been updated since it opened. Our server was Rosa, who admitted being new, but was super efficient and friendly. 10 out of 10 for the service for sure. I ordered the lasagna and my lady friend ordered the alfredo fettuccine. First up of course were the breadsticks and salads. Breadsticks were super hot and delicious. Salad was like I remembered, but just a little low on dressing. Next was the mains and both were outstanding; the lasagna was nice and gooey, with their incredible meat sauce, and the fettuccine was super flavourful and creamy. And huge portions we struggled to finish. Really a great visit and so happy to see them back in Ottawa. Obviously expect the restaurant to be very busy for a while; the line up when we left at 5:45 was 40-50 deep.

I ordered the chicken parmigiana and was shocked when my food arrived to our table. What was referred to as chicken parmigiana was actually two breaded round chicken cutlets that evidently deep fried and topped with cheese and sauce. These chicken cutlets were not hand made but either came out of a package or box. In comparison to east side Mario’s chicken parmigiana this was disgusting along with the small amount of spaghetti added to the dish. For a new opening reflecting made in house fresh daily this did not even come close to that. Also I was given a dirty fork, side plate and the table was not even properly cleaned off after the last patrons which to me is off to a real negative start. If this is what everyone is to expect including the quick box and package ready meal then I can honestly say the restaurant will fade out quickly. After the initial hype of opening day and lineups to get a table I’m positively sure this won’t last. This is not the Olive Garden I remember back in the 1990’s on st Laurent blvd. Where the dishes actually looked and were presented as fresh made daily. Sincerely Laurence Tourangeau My visit was a dinner visit around 4:30 PM . The bill was $76.62 and I spend less at east side Mario’s and I walk away pleased and content. The chicken cutlets that were used as chicken parmigiana reminded me of a food basics breaded chicken cutlet for $10.00 a bag. There is no denying that the cutlets served to me were not hand made and certainly were quickly deep fried. A very disappointing visit.

I visited the new Olive Garden in Ottawa today for their grand opening, and I was incredibly impressed by how seamlessly the team operated. You usually expect a few logistical hiccups on day one, but the service was surprisingly organized, efficient, and inviting right out of the gate. SERVICE The staff truly shined. Service was frequent, fast, and genuinely welcoming. Managing a grand opening crowd is no small feat, but the team here made the entire dining experience feel effortless and familiar. THE FOOD The meal started strong with their signature soup and breadsticks, both of which were delicious and fresh. For an appetizer, I ordered the Shrimp Fritto Misto. It was quite good, though a touch on the salty side. It was served with marinara and a spicy ranch—the spicy ranch was definitely the superior pairing. For my main, I had the Lasagna Classico. The overall flavor profile was excellent and hearty. However, the noodles were a little overcooked, making the texture border on mushy. DRINKS & VALUE They offer a surprisingly large variety of beverages, which adds great value to the meal. You get free refills on most sodas and even some of their fruit splashes. If you prefer sparkling water, it is available for an additional cost. THE VERDICT While there was a minor textural miss on the lasagna, the outstanding flavor, generous drink refills, and exceptionally well-managed grand opening service more than made up for it. This location is already firing on all cylinders and delivering great value. A very easy 5-star addition to the neighborhood—I am looking forward to coming back.
