  This review is about the people. Our group showed up on Mother's Day, and it turns out the reservation had accidentally been made for the next day. No sweat. Because whoever the manager guy was in the cream sports coat, you're a professional, sir. He not only had a table set up, but he did it without making anyone feel badly. He was empathetic, easy going and made something happen that he didn't need to. As a result, our family had a wonderful brunch while staff was so friendly despite the table being makeshift and added in at the last second. Your excellent work did not go unnoticed. Like all businesses, it's all about the people and this business has some really good ones. Thank you.

  We hosted our two daughters Confirmation and Communion with Baxter's Landing in Oshawa this past weekend and we could not be more pleased with the entire experience. From my first encounter with Nicole via email she was quick to reply to my questions and she provided clear answers and made the booking process easy. On the event day the tables were set up beautifully and provided an intimate area for our large group of 25. We had plenty of space to move around and chat with each other also. Our servers Liam and Kathryn (I hope I'm correct in their names) were so kind and helpful and quick with service. And my whole family couldn't be more impressed with the food. Every thing was fantastic. I would not hesitate to book another event with Baxter's Landing. I can't thank the whole team enough for all their hard work that went into making our event run smoothly while still catering to the rest of the restaurant. Thanks so much!

  We like to watch sporting events at restaurants and bars. We decided to try Baxter’s and we’re making this our place from now on. We sat at the and were served by Mackenzie and Emma, both made the experience feel like sitting at a 5 star hotel restaurants. We never had to ask they seemed to know when we needed more time and. When we were ready to order. The atmosphere is comfortable and an elevated casual. Also from previous experience everything on this menu is delicious. Tuna sushi was pleasant surprise last week. Last shoot out to Mackenzie for making this outing feel like an experience.

  I’ve been to Baxter’s many times and choose it to treat a friend for his bday. Love the cocktails and the Brussels sprouts app, both were again great last night. Normally the food is pretty good as well. What fell short was the steak and parm frites I ordered. The steak (ordered medium) was very tough, full of gristle and the frites were cold and absolutely without any kind of seasoning, the “parm” completely missing. It was all just slapped on the plate, no presentation attempted, no garnish, no parm on the cold fries. Not your usual quality, I feel like there’s normally way more effort and the parm frites are presented in a little basket?? Service was friendly but also on the slower side for a night with only maybe a third of the capacity filled. Disappointed with what’s usually a solid dining experience.

  I had a really disappointing experience here that felt outright dishonest. We ordered several happy hour items, but were incorrectly charged full price for 2 out of 5. I paid the bill (with tax and tip), then noticed the mistake afterward. When I brought it up, the server initially insisted the bill was correct. Only after I showed the menu did they acknowledge the error and involve the manager. That’s where it got worse. Instead of properly correcting the bill, the manager handed me $5 back on what was roughly a $7+ overcharge (before tax and tip). When I asked about the tax, he responded, “oh you want that as well?”—as if I was asking for a favor instead of my own money. He then added 5 cents to the total and made a point of saying he “bumped it up” himself. To top it off, they gave me a “complimentary” dip card… that had already expired two months ago. At no point did anyone take real ownership of the mistake. The entire interaction made it feel like they were minimizing the issue and hoping I wouldn’t push back. Check your bills carefully here. This didn’t feel like an honest mistake—it felt like a system that relies on customers not noticing
