  I was so looking forward to finally visiting a Canadian Chick-fil-A location, but unfortunately, my first experience left a pretty sour taste in my mouth. The drive-thru was incredibly slow, taking a total of 28 minutes. There was only one car ahead of me to the canopy, yet it took 11 minutes just to have my order taken. After that, it was another 17 minutes of waiting just to receive a single chicken sandwich combo. To top it all off, the order was wrong. The ticket on the bag showed the correct items, but the sandwich itself was incorrectly dressed. I know they are still relatively new and likely working through some growing pains, so I will probably give them a second chance in a few months to work out the kinks. But for a brand famous for speed and accuracy, this first visit was highly disappointing.

  I’ve been stopping at Chick-fil-A whenever I traveled for years, so it’s great to finally have a location close to home. One thing I’ve always appreciated is how consistent the experience is. The service is friendly and efficient, the restaurant is clean, and the food is reliably good no matter which location I visit. I’ve tried most of the classic menu items over the years, and the chicken is every bit as good as its reputation. On my most recent visit, I tried one of their milkshakes, and it was excellent. It’s definitely a step above what you’ll find at most other fast-food chains. Having a Chick-fil-A this close is probably dangerous for my wallet and my waistline, but I’m certainly not complaining. It’s a welcome addition to the area and one I’ll be visiting often.

  It seems most people reviewing don’t quite understand the process of Chick-fil-A as most have most likely never been. No, your burger does not come with sauce on it so that everything remains fresh, you receive a sauce on the side and may add it to your burger. As for those complaining about the wait, this is Chick-fil-A’s third restaurant opening in Ottawa, so it is only reasonable that there will be a wait given new staff, new location, and the many people who live in Ottawa East wanting to come try it out. As for my personal experience going on opening day and being the third car in the drive-through, I was very excited about the new opening. Of course, the drive-through worker had a little bit of a learning curve as I was the first person he served. Though it did not go as smoothly as one would hope, it’s understandable given the new opening and new experience. I’ve been twice now, and I’d say the main note I have for the drive-through and any workers taking orders, is to remind the customer that they can choose from sauces, and that they’re at no additional cost when you order it with your meal. By providing this information, the location will receive less negative reviews about the lack of sauce in their burgers and with their meals. As for taste, this is not my first time going to Chick-fil-A. My family and I have gone many times in Toronto and to the other locations in the city and we love it. The chicken tastes real, everything is fresh, and the service has been as quick as it could be given the popularity and amount of people going. I believe every restaurant should be given a fair chance to thrive and show that they are a successful location, and therefore need a few weeks or a couple months to get a good flow and serve customers correctly. All that said, keep going, you guys are doing great. Looking forward to visiting next time! (Photos attached are from opening day, we got free tumblers and our puppy got a little stuffed cow animal. One of the corporate workers also gave him a pup cup - he enjoyed it thoroughly!)

  Take the negative reviews with a grain of salt. Every negative review is such a fixable situation by the customers. Instead, they choose the write something, expecting something. Restaurant is very clean, staff is extremely professional and polite for a fast food establishment. Nice to see a lot of local folks from the Orleans community getting employed here. If you have never been to a chick-fil-a, you need to go with the expectations that there will be wait times. Had a great experience today.

  First time orderings from Chik fil a! Customer service was spot on, fast and efficient! Fries were to die for! Spicy chicken strips are no kidding spicy but crispy and good! The deluxe chicken burger was a little more greasy than expected and needed more sauce but it was ok. The famous Chik fil a sauce was ok, a little too acidic for me but my husband liked it.The sweet tea was perfectly not too sweet and refreshing! I do applaud all the staff for working so hard and being upbeat and positive during the busy second day opening! Kudos!
