    Stopped by Montana’s for Taco Tuesday and had such a great experience! The tacos were delicious, fresh, and a fantastic deal. A special shoutout to my waitress, Becky, who was absolutely amazing. She was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. She has such a positive attitude and genuinely made the whole experience even better. If you get Becky as your server, you’re in for excellent service! We’ll definitely be back for Taco Tuesday again!

My recent experience at the Merivale Road location in Ottawa highlights a critical disconnect between pricing strategy and execution, specifically regarding the "Big Grill Trio" special ($29.99). From a consumer value perspective, the portion sizes represent a textbook example of aggressive "shrinkflation" that undermines customer trust: Protein Portions: The chicken portion was approximately one-third of a standard breast, accompanied by a mere four ribs, and two remarkably small shrimp skewers. Cost-to-Value Disparity: At a $30 price point, the margin-maximizing strategy comes entirely at the expense of guests, yielding a portion size that fails to justify the premium tiering. Operationally, the friction was equally pronounced. A 45-minute ticket time for a menu item where roughly 75% of the components are precooked and held for service points to systemic kitchen inefficiency or severe staffing mismatches. Five years ago, Montana’s was a highly recommendable staple for quality and casual dining value. Today, the operational lag and diminished portions make it impossible to recommend. When a brand sacrifices its core product value to protect short-term margins, customers will inevitably seek better yield and efficiency elsewhere. Skip entirely until corporate addresses these systemic execution gaps.

    We always have a great experience at the Merivale Montana's! The food is consistently good, the portions are very generous, and the price is always right. On our latest visit, we were served by Kira, who was absolutely incredible. She was bubbly, all smiles, and filled with tons of helpful information. She perfectly accommodated everyone’s appetites—since a few people in our group weren't overly hungry, she suggested they share the smokehouse wrap, which turned out to be super tasty! Also, do yourself a favour and order the pull-apart bread. It is soooo good and a total must-have. Thank you, Kira, for the amazing service!

    Went to this location last night with two friends. We each ordered a drink and a meal. I ordered a Canadian burger with onion rings. My only request was no tomatoes and extra onions. The Wade staff mentioned that they don't put onions on that burger normally so that she would mention it to the chef to ensure it was done this time. When the food arrived, the first thing I noticed was the half a bowl of onion rings. I believe there were five all together. They were also Stone cold. As I went to bite into my hamburger I noticed a big chunk of tomato on it. When I opened up the burger to remove the tomato I noticed I didn't have any onions on the burger. This usually isn't a big deal and I can just ask the staff to get me some. But for whatever reason the white stuff didn't come until the end of our meal. Needless to say I was not impressed with my meal at all. Quantity, the quality, and accuracy were all out the window this evening.

    We went to Montana’s for lunch on Saturday, and unfortunately it was a very disappointing experience. It took around 45–50 minutes for our food to arrive for a table of five. When it finally came, every single one of us received the wrong order. Before ordering, we had asked our lovely server, Ray, about the Sunday special sandwich, but we ended up deciding to order the Saturday special with chicken tenders, pork ribs, etc. Mistakes happen, and we completely understand that everyone is human. What really ruined the experience was how the situation was handled by the manager. After waiting almost an hour while hungry, instead of taking responsibility and focusing on a solution, he repeatedly blamed us and called it a “miscommunication.” He even mentioned that if we had ordered the ribs, the server would have asked about sauces, so we should have known we had ordered something else. As customers, we’re not Montana’s employees, and we shouldn’t be expected to know every step of the ordering process. One of my friends even pointed out that she had asked about the sauces, and the manager simply responded that the server must have thought she was asking about the sandwich sauce. When the replacement food arrived, we didn’t enjoy it at all. The sandwich was very oily, and the loaded potato was cold and lacked flavour. The manager’s only solution after placing the blame on us was to offer a 50% discount. Given the long wait, the incorrect orders, and the poor handling of the situation, we felt a full discount would have been more appropriate. The only positive part of our visit was our server, Ray, who was kind and pleasant throughout. Unfortunately, the food quality and especially the management’s response left us with a very poor impression.
