The restaurant was dirty and the bathroom was horrendous. I know it was more so towards the end of the night but it would be nice to not have sticky shoes when I'm walking around. The staff was very friendly but it was a bit too much. We had to constantly remind them to grab that we needed or ordered because they would be too distracted by talking to us. The appetizers that we ordered it could have been cooked a little bit more but other than that food was great!

The food was decent and it wasn't too noisy (730pm on a Sunday) We only came to Eastside because one of my daughters loves their tomato soup. Looking at the menu we noticed there wasn't any soup on the childrens menu (.I have twin 5yr olds). I told the waitress that I'll order the soup as my side and give it to my daughter and she goes " if you're going to share you can only have *1 or 2I don't remember exactly the number* refills. I really didn't care for the number but I thought it was all you can eat sides or something and I was giving my soup to my 5yr old not an adult so the limitation seemed odd. Are sides not unlimited anymore at Eastside Mario's? Again, the food was decent and I also appreciate how playful some of the other staff were with my children. I just didn't enjoy the delivery with minimal explanation from my waitress who I believe may have been management trying to get customers in and out. The energy was off. Customer service is personal and professional but most importantly respectful.

We were fortunate to have a wonderful server - Sophia - for our dinner at this establishment. Sophia was amazing. She was patient with all our questions and gave us fabulous suggestions for both our drinks and our meals. She checked on our table at the right times, and was always on point - even when the restaurant became extremely busy. Our salad and our bread was always replenished - it was a great dining experience. Going out for dinner is all about the experience- yes the food needs to be good- however it’s the atmosphere of the restaurant and how the server makes you feel welcome. Sophia did just that expertly- she made us laugh, she made us feel welcome, and we ended up having an amazing time. Thanks Sophia!

Michelle was our server, and she was absolutely amazing! She was so lovely, attentive, and welcoming, and her big smile and positive attitude really made our experience special. The food was excellent as well. I ordered the Build-Your-Own Pasta with signature fettuccine and East Side Mario’s signature tomato sauce, and my mom ordered the Build-Your-Own Pasta with Alfredo sauce. We both really enjoyed our meals! What impressed me most was seeing Michelle manage five or six tables at a time while still maintaining such a positive attitude and giving everyone great service. She never seemed overwhelmed and continued to be friendly and attentive throughout. Her energy truly contributed to a wonderful dining experience. Thank you, Michelle, for making our visit so enjoyable! We’ll definitely be back.

Honestly, I would rate the East Side Mario’s Heartland location a 1/10. With the restaurant being under new ownership, I expected things to be better, but our experience was extremely disappointing. We were told that if we wanted the cheese cappelletti pasta, they could give us only a few pieces, and each piece would cost an extra dollar. They offered to give us around three pieces, which just felt ridiculous. Paying extra for individual pieces of pasta is not something I expected when ordering a meal. The service was also a huge problem. The restaurant’s hours said that they closed at 10:00 PM, so we arrived at the takeout window around 9:35 PM, expecting to still be able to place an order. However, the takeout window was already locked even though it wasn’t 10 yet. We then went to the front entrance, where a girl who was working there was leaving. She told us that the kitchen had already closed at 9:30 PM. If the restaurant says it’s open until 10:00, then customers should reasonably expect to be able to order until close, or at the very least, the earlier kitchen closing time should be clearly posted. When we asked about it, she was extremely rude, impatient, and dismissive toward us. Her attitude made an already frustrating situation even worse. Overall, between the strange pasta situation, the confusing hours, the locked takeout window before closing time, and the rude customer service, this was not a good experience. New ownership or not, there is clearly room for improvement. If your restaurant closes at 10, customers shouldn’t be showing up before 10 and being treated like they’re a problem for trying to order. I honestly hope management takes this kind of feedback seriously because the experience we had was nowhere near what I would expect from a restaurant like East Side Mario’s.
