    Our waiter Jaida was so nice and polite. My boyfriend is deaf and she took the time to make sure we were welcomed and comfortable throughout or while people. She also helped me with my food recommendation 10/10 best choice. Great food great people !

    Our family celebrated a milestone birthday with a group of 15 people with varying ages from children to seniors. The service was excellent. Jessica was our server who was attentive to all our needs. Ryan checked up on the service a couple of times. We had a full selection of menu items from pizza, steaks to fish etc. Everything was over the top with excellence. We highly recommend this restaurant and will for sure be back. Thanks again.

    This is our favourite restaurant. The food is consistently excellent. We love the friendliness of all the staff, and appreciate their welcoming attitude. Kudos to Christina for her excellent service. Congratulations to Ryan for running such a well organized outfit. Trish and Julie

    I have celiac disease and come to this location many times. In the last year it has not been as great. I used to never get sick. Before tonight, twice I had been glutenized by meals here. So we've been frequenting other restaurants. Tonight my family was celebrating and we came to State and Main for dinner. I ordered a grilled chicken Caesar salad without croutons from the "cut the wheat" menu. Server understood that it was a severe allergy/celiac disease and spoke to the kitchen about it for cross contamination. Our foods came out. Mine carried separately. (Top notch! Awesome protocol here! Much appreciated!) We were eating and chatting away. I ate a bite from the middle of my plate and it was clearly a crouton and tasted of wheat. I have not had full wheat bread in over 15 years. 😭 I had swallowed before even knowing. For reference, I'm very symptomatic with my celiac disease. So even a crumb causes my body to attack itself. A full crouton? When our server came around, I decided to tell her that there was an issue. Nothing they could do about it, but this is now the third time I've been sick at this location. We used to eat here frequently and I think they deserve to know there's an issue. Our server was polite and apologetic. I understood it wasn't her fault. The manager came around and apologized too and comped my salad and my drink and said any desserts were on the house. This was more than kind of them to do. And appreciated! I ate a creme brûlée which was good. I figured why not, it'll go right through me soon enough! 🤣🤦🏽‍♀️ I tried to enjoy the rest of our meal together with conviviality, however, my guts were beginning to turn already. Before finishing our desserts. 😞 Our celebrating was cut short because we needed to get home, so I could be sick. 😩 I sincerely hope the staff receive full training on what celiac disease is... I won't die from anaphylaxis. However, my body attacks itself, and it will take 3 months for my intestines to repair themselves. During this time, I will have a lowered immune system, and less energy as my body repairs itself. This puts a huge strain on my family and my work/livelihood. Going out to celebrate is not worth it. 😞 Happy to come in and chat with kitchen staff, front end and back end about what it is, and how to help mitigate cross-contamination. May not be returning to this location to be burned a fourth time. ETA: it is now 5 days after we ate here, and I am still having symptoms of the gluten. If the kitchen staff is unaware of this condition, they really need training to fully understand. I'll likely be recovering from this for many weeks and possibly months to come. 😓

    State and Main has been mine and my boyfriend’s go-to dinner date spot for the past 3 years. The restaurant is beautiful and the vibe in there is always really nice. The staff have never been anything but wonderful and accommodating. I genuinely could not say one bad thing about any of our experience here. One of the stand-out features to me is that their quality hasn’t dropped AT ALL in the past 3 years. There are a lot of restaurants that I’ve noticed are getting worse over the years, but state and main certainly isn’t one of them. Every meal tastes as mind blowing as when we first got it 3 years ago. The prices are a tiny bit high, but the quality of the food is definitely worth the price. I recommend this place to everyone. A couple of my favourite meals I’ve had: teriyaki rice bowl (with spicy chili sauce!), bison burger, steak, chicken sandwich, and butter chicken bowl!
