  Probably the best patio in the area during the summer, with live games and music inside for those who seek more excitement. Staff are AAA+ and the diverse drink options match. Definitely try the sangria, calamari, spin dip, munchie box, liver & onions, and crispy salmon bowl.

  Amazing!!!! Ordered off uber eats I heard the Halifax donair is just like down home I am from cape breton and I approve!!! Stellar food absolutely delicious and great portions very filling 5 stars!!!!! 🙂

  I had the Curry Chicken Pie and a bowl of Corned Beef and Cabbage soup, wife had a Masala Veggie Burger. Everything was great and the place has a cozy vibe

  I've eaten at Malt & Barley a few times over the years and always had a good experience. I visited again in July of 2026 and the streak continues. It's an English pub of which there is a few in KW (can think of one on Victoria St.) and provides a pretty authentic experience. I was recently in Manchester so the memories were fresh and it was nice to get the vibe back here. Although the pub seems decidedly a Liverpool fan! Food was great. I had the Williamsburger and quite enjoyed the "potato hay" topping - basically finely shredded potato - and the fries and gravy were excellent. We had the fried pepperoni which was fine but to be honest is way too much as a side/appetizer if you are ordering mains. As it comes with a huge amount of fries as well. Basically we just ate a few of the pepperonis and took the rest home. Pepperoni itself was okay but wouldn't order again. I remember a chicken fried bacon in years past but it seems now gone! Too bad - had fond memories of that. Anyways, super good burger. Delicious gravy. Great vibe. Definitely recommend.

  I am a regular customer at Malt and Barley. It has always been one of my favourite places — the food, the service, and especially the evening staff have always been excellent. However, today was the worst experience I have ever had there. I felt targeted and disrespected because of my brown skin. Some of the staff had friends visiting as customers, and they were supporting them instead of treating all customers fairly. I was minding my own business, yet I received threats such as, “Come outside, we’ll show you what we can do.” They also accused me of not tipping, even though my bill was over $100. You can confirm with the evening staff that I always tip them properly. If tipping is mandatory, Malt and Barley should clearly inform customers. I would really like to speak with the owner in person regarding this incident. Please train your staff to treat all customers with respect, regardless of race. Being threatened by other people made me feel unsafe. I even come here with my family, including my two small children, and now I no longer feel comfortable.
