  We went to Montanas for my boyfriends Birthday dinner..We had an amazing waitress here name was Sam...She was very efficient and kind!!! We will be sitting in her area next time for sure!!! The 12oz steak dinner was delicious too!!! This was at the Upper James location.

  Ashley our server was awesome. She was beyond bubbly and efficient with all asked of her. Our family of 16 were thrilled with our delicious meals and friendly service. It was fantastic Sam & Brady popped over to our table to give us all a warm welcome with their big smiles. We love Montanas ❤️ they have always supported our charity golf tournaments in support of The Canadian Council of the blind Jr's club year after year with prizes.   We came here to celebrate Mother’s Day, and it was honestly the perfect choice. From the moment we arrived, Spencer made us feel incredibly welcome with such warm, attentive, and genuine service. He went above and beyond to make our celebration special, and his kindness truly stood out. Every dish we ordered was absolutely delicious — fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. You can really tell the kitchen puts care into every detail. The atmosphere was also amazing: cozy, lively, and full of great energy, making it the perfect place to celebrate with family. This was more than just a dinner; it became a beautiful memory for our Mother’s Day celebration. Huge thanks to Spencer and the entire team for such an unforgettable experience. We’ll definitely be coming back!

  We had such a great experience at Montana’s BBQ & Bar! The food was delicious, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming, and everything came out fresh and perfectly prepared. A special thank you to Spencer for the amazing service. He was friendly, attentive, professional, and made us feel truly taken care of during our visit. He checked on us often and made sure everything was perfect from start to finish. Customer service like this makes all the difference, and Spencer definitely made our night even better. We’ll absolutely be coming back again soon!

  This used to be a place I visited often, but this time I’m leaving a 1-star review — and honestly, if I could give less than 1 star, I would. My last two experiences here were extremely disappointing. The previous visit was somewhat okay service-wise, but the food smelled a little off and arrived cold. This last visit completely ruined it for me. I also work in the food and beverage industry, and I have honestly never experienced service this bad before. The staff were unbelievably slow and showed zero care for customers. It started the moment we walked in. The host clearly saw us enter but didn’t greet us, didn’t say “just a moment,” and simply disappeared. We waited almost 10 minutes before the host came back to seat us. It was evening, and the restaurant was not even busy — honestly quieter than some places I’ve worked at. After being seated, we waited another 10 minutes before a server finally came to ask for drinks. About 5 minutes later, she returned with the drinks and took our order. Everything seemed fine at first. Then 20–25 minutes later, she came back to tell us they were out of baked potatoes. Fine, I switched to mashed potatoes instead. After that, we waited another 20 minutes with absolutely no updates, no check-ins, nothing. The server completely ignored our table and avoided us the entire time. One of my friends had to leave before even getting their food. After waiting over an hour total, my other friend finally got frustrated and went to find the server to tell her we had been waiting forever, we were starving, and we needed to leave. Only then did she suddenly rush into the kitchen to bring the food out — at that point we already had our jackets on and were ready to walk out. When the server saw us, the only thing she said was: “You guys leaving for real?” — with attitude. I told her to pack the food to-go because I couldn’t stay there anymore. Then she replied, “You still have to pay for this food.” I said okay and continued waiting while they packed everything. When they finally brought the bill, there was not a single sincere apology, no discount, no attempt to make things right — nothing. They still acted rude and took the payment like everything was normal. The service team and kitchen staff here are honestly terrible for such a well-known brand. Very disappointing.
