My husband and I shared a caesar salad worth $25. We did not like it. The cheese was bitter, the amount of chicken was too less and the dressing wasn't flavorful. We still finished it as we were starving. But we gave our review to the server. She brought the manager, who was good to talk to and felt sorry for our bad experience. But despite this, we did not get any discount. I would count this as bad customer service. As a courtesy, I would have expected some good gesture. It's one of our favorite places to eat at. Not sure we would go back though.

I used to really like this restaurant, but I’m not sure what’s happened. Here’s my experience from today’s order: the Chicken Caesar Salad lettuce appeared unwashed, with visible dirt. The Braised Short Rib was mostly fat with very little meat. Honestly not worth the money at all, most of both dishes went straight in the trash. Disappointing all around, hoping this was an off day, not the new normal.

Long time customer who will never return due to two horrible service experiences. Went for dinner in March and were seated at a high top in the bar area even though we reserved a standard table. Told we would have to wait 30 minutes+ for a standard table. I guess reservations don't mean much. Served by a bartender who was awful (slow, inattentive etc). Decided to try again last night for a birthday dinner. Seated at a standard table but weren't acknowledged by a server for over 10 minutes. Didn't see a server in our section during this time so we decided to avoid another terrible experience and got up and left. Drove to Beertown and had a great experience with both the service and food. Were acknowledged by a friendly server within a minute of being seated and drink orders were on the table a few minutes after that. She checked up on us several times throughout the meal and made sure all our needs were being met. They seemed to have much more staff (runners etc) than JL and it made a huge difference. JL management should visit Beertown to learn how it should be done. Will never visit JL again and will be visiting Beertown more frequently when in the mood for this time of food.

I hate leaving bad reviews but this was completely warranted. We go to every landing multiple times a year all over ontario, and we decided to do Jackson's for my birthday. It was a beautiful Saturday afternoon, least to say we waited 40 minutes for a waitress to grab our drinks orders. Then we ended up ordering the fish tacos and a pizza to share between us. We took a bite out of the fish tacos and oil just dripped all over the plate and table. Then we took a bite out of the pizza and they didnt have tomato sauce on the dough, just the dough and toppings on top. We told the server we were not going to be eating as we lost our appetite. We had a few drinks and asked for the bill. When we got the bill, they ended up charging us for the food we didn't eat. It was obvious at that point that on a beautiful Saturday afternoon it was dead and they charged us for food that wasn't edible, that I realized, they must be hurting for money and have lost their way. We used to absolutely love this place, but thats the last time we go there.

We had a department dinner for a coworker celebrating her 15th anniversary. Her and I arrived early to have a drink at the bar. For what is supposed to be a cut above a sports bar, they had the World Cup game on at DEAFENING volume. We could barely carry on a conversation. I was about to say something but someone beat me to it and the volume was lowered, but still loud. Once the group arrived we sat on the patio. The service was not the greatest, having to ask for a glass for my Guinness (no restaurant should expect a guest to drink out of a can). Dirty appy plates littered the table way too long and we had to ask for them to be removed. When my coworker received her steak, first she had to wait forever to get cutlery, then when she got her steak, which was supposed to be medium rare, it was blood red. She had to ask for it to be sent back, and by the time we got it back, the rest of us had finished eating, so she took it home. As for my own dish (rigatoni with beef tenderloin) it was less than stellar, with a soupy sauce left over at the bottom of the dish and the flavour was more Mrs. Dash than anything else. Ordering drinks was also frustrating as they were out of this wine and out of this beer etc. It was a disappointing way to spend what was supposed to be a joyous occasion.
