    We came to this East Side Mario location with a large group. The bartender said that, with their policy, individuals needs to give a mandatory 18% tip. I understand the significant of serving a lot of people at the same time, but what if the service was terrible? Our servicer did an excellent job, despite of the delay. When payment was occurring, as our server and another staff were setting our payment on the debit machine, they automatically gave themself thumbs up for our "Restaurant Experience," and gave themself the 18% tip. This feels like a scam. If the 18% tip mandatory for a large group is part of the policy, shouldn't you have that implemented in your payment system? You do not have my concent to give yourself a thumbs up of my experience. Congratulations, you guys gave yourself 18 thumbs up. I wonder how many times you have done this to others?

    My partner and I walked in just before the dinner rush, we were seated promptly at a booth and everything seemed up to par. We had our menus decided what we wanted and waited, and waited, about 15 minutes to just meet our waitress. She took our order, two pops, two parms, a soup, salad, and bread. Shortly sfter one of our drinks arrived. Supposedly a root beer and our diet Pepsi was on the way after they fixed the machine. However, after tasting this pop, we discovered it was a regular Pepsi. Which we did not order, which is fine, its just a drink. We receive our bread, soup and salad and we're assured our second pop would be out shortly, so we ate our soup and salad. One of us with a drink, one without. Iguess I should've asked for water. You may have noticed I haven’t mentioned cheese yet, this is because we recieve ZERO cheese all night, none for our soup, pasta, or entrees. Anyways, we finished our one loaf of bread, which unbeknownst to us would be our ONLY loaf of the evening. We stacked our plates and waited, and waited. Finally, we got our food and our second pop which was a diet Pepsi, a drink we did order so yay. We ate over cooked pasta, with used plates beside us, no server checking in, and once finished we again, waited and waited, and waited. Another 15 minute wait at least. In this time I used to restroom, which smelt like mold. While I was in the restroom my partner was able to order another soup which was nice, and then we continued to wait until we finally got a box and bill. I paid the bill, without our server, she seemed very busy with the bar all night, and we left. I came to eat and was just disappointed

    **Extremely disappointing experience** We had a reservation and waited around 15 minutes, which was reasonable. After being seated, we were told that a specific server would be taking care of our table. We ordered drinks and then waited around 30 minutes just for someone to come take our food order. Eventually, we had to call the manager because we were celebrating and simply wanted someone to attend to our table. Even after that, we waited another 30 minutes — our food order was finally taken almost an hour after we were seated. What made it even more frustrating was seeing other guests who had arrived after us already being served hot food while we were still waiting to place our order. There also seemed to be no proper server assigned to our table. We had to repeatedly flag down different staff members just to get basic things like water. In fact, our water arrived only when we were nearly finished with our food. Nobody regularly checked on us or asked if we needed anything. The food itself was just okay, but the service and overall management completely ruined the experience. There seemed to be staff moving around, yet somehow no one was actually looking after our table. Very poorly managed, extremely long wait times, and inattentive service. For a restaurant where you expect a proper dining experience, this was incredibly frustrating. If you're looking for a smooth and enjoyable meal, I would seriously reconsider coming here.

    It's funny that I hadn't been to an East Side Mario's (ESM) since 2019. I have now been to two of them within a span of nine days! I am making up for lost time, I guess. It's really that I like good meal deals and ESM has them. On Wednesday, I was at SilverCity Brampton taking in a matinee movie. Afterwards, I needed to grab some dinner before I headed home. I like that there are a bunch of eateries nearby. The design is smart. I did a search and found this ESM. I remembered that there was a pizza or pasta deal on Wednesdays. I decided to have dinner here. It was roughly a two-minute drive to get to the eatery from Cineplex. There were a few stop signs to endure before I got to the parking lot. There was plenty of parking. I pulled into an available spot by the takeout entrance. I then walked around to the main entrance. There was a party of four people ahead of me. The greeter took them to their table and came back. She said hi. I thought that she was ready to take me to a table, but she let me know that she'd be back. This party of four wanted a different table. It became a longer five-minute ordeal pulling in a couple of colleagues, including the manager, to determine if the move was good. It finally was. The female greeter came back. She asked if I wanted a booth. I said yes and was led to one by the bar. I was by the window and had baseball on the screen. I like that booths have hooks for your umbrella or whatever outerwear you have. I hung my hoodie on one of them. Skye was my server. She was competent and great. I took advantage of the Wednesday special. You can get either a cheese pizza or pasta for $15.99 when you purchase a drink. I never have an issue getting a drink, so this deal was made for me. This deal comes with all-you-can-eat soup, salad, and garlic homeloaf. It's quite the steal. I ended up getting these items to form my meal deal: - Diet Pepsi - Garlic homeloaf - Spaghetti with bolognese sauce, which was $1 more - Creamy potato bacon soup - Italian wedding soup I did the all-you-can-eat soup. Had I not downed a large-sized popcorn at the movies, I would have been able to squeeze in the roasted garlic tomato soup. I couldn't. Next time! I do love soup. The creamy potato bacon soup was hearty here. It was thick and more like a stew. It needed more water to thin it out. However, the bacon added a lot of flavour with the chunks of potato. I enjoyed the thicker stew-like meal, kind of like Chunky soup, but way better. The Italian wedding soup came out piping hot. It was on the oilier side, but the flavour was excellent. I like that the mini meatballs melt in your mouth. You have minimal chewing to do, whether you are a denture wearer or your jaw wants to rest a bit with a full set of teeth. I liked my Diet Pepsi. It was fizzy, icy, and yummy. I got a refill. The garlic homeloaf came with butter. I like that it was the perfect individual size. Not massive. Not dinky. Just right. The garlic was excellent on this homeloaf. I thoroughly enjoyed cutting it into small slices and slathering butter on them. The spaghetti with bolognese sauce was the highlight of this meal. I splurged and got bolognese for an extra $1. It was worth it. The spaghetti was al dente. The portion size was excellent. The bolognese sauce was so perfect. It was yummy and hearty. It reminded me of getting this dish at Olive Garden. I got the bill. Skye asked if I had a Scene+ card. I did, but it was a digital version in my Google Wallet. She was good entering the number manually into the payment machine. I let her know that she was great. I think she appreciated it. I paid with a credit card. I tipped and tapped. Done! I wished her a great evening. She reciprocated. Before I left, I used the washroom, which was in the far right corner of the eatery. The stall that I was in was okay. I don't get why folks need to leave a bunch of toilet paper on the floor. Such a waste! It was great coming here for dinner after taking in a movie. I'd return for some more good eats here.

    East Side Mario’s has been a frequent spot for family and friends over the years and they have remained consistent with the quality of food. We visited there after an anteroom of shopping. The all you can eat soup or salad and bread are always a hit. Especially that bread. We ordered the salads and had a chance to try all three soups. Italian wedding and the potato bacon soups are great. Maine ordered were the Mario Sampler which is always good, the Salmon and Chicken and Shrimp Scampi. The violet iced tea lemonade is a must try. We finished off with the funnel cake for two since one of our party had never had one. This was the only disappointing part of the night. It was very oily and nothing like funnel cakes we’ve had before. The best part of the night other than the time with family and the food was the service. Leanne was an amazingly attentive and sweet server. She kept checking in even as the evening became more busy and while training a new employee.
