For some reason every time I've been they've been short staff and I think that's what's causing people to not go back and eat at the actual restaurant, the staff there are amazing just noticed enough of them, I love Swiss chalet so much that I will wait for the food no matter how much time it takes, last time I ate there it took about an hour to get the food on table the only other thing I can say is the most times when you order for delivery or pick up about 90% of the time the chicken comes with barely any skin on it. But I reiterate I love the food here lol

I’ve been here before and had a good experience, so I’m not sure what happened this time. The restaurant didn’t seem very busy, although there may have been things happening behind the scenes.
I placed an online order at 3:30 and arrived at the time I was told it would be ready. After arriving, I waited another 10–15 minutes just to speak with someone at the takeout area, even after ringing the bell multiple times. During that time, three different employees — including someone I assumed was a manager wearing a blue shirt and vest instead of a uniform — asked if I had been helped and simply told me to ring the bell again, which I had already done.
After finally paying, I waited another 15–20 minutes past the promised pickup time for my food. Meanwhile, a customer who ordered at 3:50 received her order and left within five minutes of arriving. A SkipTheDishes driver who arrived after me also left with their order before I received mine.
Unfortunately, when I got the food home, both dishes were very disappointing. The meat was bland and overly salty, especially considering the price.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend this restaurant’s takeout service. I’d suggest going to the location on Upper James or trying somewhere else instead.

Take out order- second time doing take out and second time being extremely disappointed. Had to wait an additional 20 mins after the order was supposed to be ready, food was sub par. Why on earth you would drop a poutine on top of a wrap in in one take out box is beyond me. The wrap was completely soggy as it was covered in gravy.
Usually our favourite restaurant but extremely disappointing experience.
Much better in restaurant experience, will not do take out again

Just had an amazing experience at Swiss Chalet Ancaster all thanks to Sheri. I was doing some running around and thought I would stop off for an early lunch. It was quiet and I feel bad when you show up as the doors open.
Sheri was incredibly welcoming and friendly. Added bonus, we grew up in the same area on Hamilton mountain and traded stories of local businesses/restaurants including the Swiss Chalet in Upper James.
I am not a fan of eating alone but Sheri was awesome and I felt part of her family, thanks so much Sheri!
The meal, 1/2 chicken with fries was hot and delicious, the way I remembered it.
If you are looking for a great meal served in a reasonable time this is your place….and if you are lucky, you will get to have Sheri as your server. You will have a wonderful experience.

Husband wanted Swiss Chalet home delivery. After an hour when order still showed as 'being prepared' online, he called to see what was happening and was curtly told: "we prioritize our in -restaurant customers', 'there is no guaranteed time for deliver', and 'we ran out of chicken'. So, if you want your ordered delivered within a couple of hours, best to skip this location. Only thing worse than the timing at this location is the attitude.. Good news for me is that, as someone who isn't a huge fan, I'll get no argument about getting something else next time!
