I don't like leaving bad reviews. In fact, I usually won't unless I'm genuinely upset about the service or quality of something I've purchased. But after what my daughter and I witnessed today at the Amherstburg Subway, I feel like I need to say something. We went in today to grab lunch, and there was a young woman working who was doing her very best. She was friendly, polite, and trying to keep up with everything. Before my order, there was apparently a sub that had gone missing. The gentleman working with her, PJ, accused her of giving the sub to the wrong person. What bothered me wasn't that there was an issue that needed to be addressed. Mistakes happen. What bothered me was the way he spoke to her and treated her in front of me, my seven-year-old daughter, and the other customers in the restaurant. He spoke to her extremely rudely, talked down to her, and continued to be disrespectful toward her throughout our visit. You could visibly see that it was upsetting and distracting her. At one point, while she was helping me at the counter, PJ pushed her out of the way to take over. I found the entire interaction extremely uncomfortable and upsetting to watch. There was also another gentleman there who appeared to be brand new and still training, as he wasn't even in a uniform yet. He made a comment about her making mistakes, saying something along the lines of, "I'm the new one, brand new one. I'm the one who's supposed to be making mistakes, not you." Maybe they didn't realize how their words and actions were coming across. But they were doing it in front of customers, and it was very clear that this young woman was being made to feel uncomfortable and embarrassed. My daughter was so excited to go get Subway today. We were planning on staying and eating our lunch there, but after watching everything happen, she wanted to leave, so we took our food home instead. At the time, I didn't even realize there was anything wrong with our order. We didn't discover that until we got home, opened our subs, and took a bite. Normally, I would absolutely go back and have the order corrected. But after the experience we had in the restaurant, I honestly don't want to put myself or my daughter back into that environment today. And this is the part that really got me. As we were leaving, my daughter said "I wish she was our friend, Mommy, because I want to buy her flowers to try to make her feel better." She's seven years old. A seven-year-old recognized that another person was being treated poorly and immediately wanted to do something to make her feel better. That should say something. I don't know how long this young woman has worked there. Maybe she's new. Maybe she's still learning. It doesn't matter. Everyone makes mistakes, especially when they're learning. Nobody deserves to be embarrassed, belittled, or talked down to in general let alone in front of customers. And to the young woman who was working today: I truly hope you know that at least one customer noticed how hard you were trying. My daughter noticed too. ❤️ I'm not writing this review because our sandwich was messed up. Honestly, that wasn't even what upset me the most. I'm writing this because how employees treat one another matters. If there is a mistake, correct it. If someone needs training, train them. If something went wrong, address it professionally. But humiliating someone, talking down to them, and treating them disrespectfully is not okay and front of customers is definitely not okay. I sincerely hope management takes the time to look into what happened today at the Amherstburg location. Employees deserve to be treated with respect at work, and customers shouldn't have to stand there and watch someone be made to feel small while they're simply trying to do their job.

Store closes a full half hour before posted time (already closed by 10:30 on a saturday, posted hours are until 11pm) and ignores customers standing outside. This location was great years ago. Now, not so much.

Asked for IH and C bread, was told there was none and then asked if I'd like something else. Asked for white, was told there was none so I asked what kind they had...only multigrain. Now why didn't he say that from the start? Very few toppings left, the stuff looked like it had been out for 10 days. When I got home, the top of the bun was harder than the toasted side...should've gone to Firehouse. Will not be back.
