  They just moved into the basement of the Ramada Inn so the atmosphere isn't exactly sit down, but that doesn't matter because the food is delicious, perfectly spiced, and I can't recommend the dosas enough. Open late as well, its a new favorite place of mine.

  Finally a great South Indian place in Oakland!! I’m South Indian and my bar for dosas and idles is pretty high. This place gets it. The dosas taste like Dosas I’ve eaten in India and the idlis are soft. They give you a delicious sambar and multiple chutneys. We also got the paneer tikka dosa which we loved. The location is a weird basement spot but we didn’t mind. We’ll be back!

  The bar was low for this place. Literally in the basement. I walked in to the smell of Fabulso and knew I was at a place that ran a shoestring business. The decor would make a Spartan proud - a few tables and chairs, a trash can, and a portable washbasin. You hear the sounds of the kitchen as you wait on your food. I was the only diner and I felt a little concerned. But I needn't have. Because when the food came out I was blown away. The sambar, my usual first dipstick of how good a south Indian place is, was on point. The idlis were chopped up and dusted in Kandi podi. The portions were large enough where I was full right after the idly! The egg dosa came out next and had the same appeal. The chutneys and sambar were the same for all dishes, but they were well made. My only complaint was the use of plastic for everything and as usual the filter coffee arrived without sugar. And adding it on the table never turns out as good as the original. They have a buy 7 dosas and get one free offer. I am considering it!

  Amazing fresh dosa and idly. Delicious sambar and chutneys. Highly recommend for anyone seeking South Indian food. Friendly staff and clear about nut allergies for a member of my party - substituted peanut chutney for coconut chutney. Definitely will be back!!!

  Food is good. the portion size is good and taste is good. I liked the peanut, tomato chutney and sambar. I ordered egg dosa. It is good. You can make any dosa to millet dosa by paying a dollar more, which is a healthier option. The location is in basement of Ramada.
