Our server kept checking in without being pushy and even talked us into trying the rosti on the side, which turned out to be the right call. The dining room has this cozy alpine vibe that makes you forget you're in the middle of Sydney, wood paneling and all. We rolled out stuffed and already planning our next visit before we'd even hit the footpath.

The first time we were taken there by a Canadian family, the experience was so wonderful that it became our restaurant for celebrating every small win. Yesterday, we came to your restaurant to celebrate my younger son's birthday. We have a family tradition of taking pictures for birthdays. While I was taking pictures, my older son informed our server that it was his brother's birthday. A friend had told me that you offer a small complimentary dessert or ice cream when it is a guest's birthday if you inform the staff in advance. I experienced this kindness myself in August and it truly moved me. Unfortunately, yesterday was different. When my son reminded the server Bernice again at the time of payment, her response was simply "okay? happy birthday" in an unpleasant tone. There was no acknowledgement or dessert offered. My son was very hurt and kept asking me why his birthday was treated differently. As a mother, I felt small and embarrassed. I think its because she sees us as poor or black skinned. Additionally, my change was $46 instead of $46.90 and no explanation was given for the difference. I am sharing this because a small act of kindness can make a whole day remarkable, especially for a child. I have always had amazing experiences with your staff until now, and I hope this feedback helps improve service.
