Great place to come and sit at the bar or make reservations for a table outside. John always makes sure we are takin care of along with the rest of the staff. Never a bad experience. I will always continue to come back

used to love coming here — the food and service were always amazing. Unfortunately, my recent visit had been really disappointing. The dishes were overly sweet and too salty, the service was unprofessional and inattentive, and even the tables and cushions were dirty. For a place that’s supposed to be a Michelin-star restaurant, the drop in quality is really disappointing.

Phenomenal. Unreal. Everything I expected. Everything was fresh, delicious and the views and staff really added to the experience. The spicy tuna, unagi and the wagyu tacos were 10/10. This was a place I had wanted to go to for years and it was worth the wait. Thank you for a great experience.

A great experience at a fine dining, the place requires reservations, the hosts are nice, welcoming, the ambiance is great and very well done, Food selection is mainly seafood but other options are available, drinks are very nice , food tastes really nice and different, the only thing I would suggest is to work on portion size, nothing more

THIS PLACE IS NOT WORTH THE ATTITUDE.
If you’re thinking about taking your family, guests, or clients to Nobu Newport Beach, don’t. The experience and food are nowhere near the standard you’d expect for what you pay.
We had an 8:00 PM reservation, arrived early, ordered promptly, and were polite the entire time. Despite that, our desserts didn’t arrive until well after closing, which was completely out of our control. Instead of apologizing, a manager came over immediately after we paid and told us we needed to leave no courtesy, no accountability, no attempt to let us finish what we had already ordered.
When we questioned this, he claimed we were “supposed to be told how much time we had” (we weren’t), doubled down on his story, mentioned he was kicking others out too, and even said he’d “check the cameras.” The tone was condescending and dismissive, and he literally told us to contact corporate.
The food itself was surprisingly bland, lacking the attention to detail a restaurant with Nobu’s reputation should have. We spent a lot of money and left feeling rushed, disrespected, and disappointed.
Luxury dining is about hospitality as much as food. This place failed at both. Plenty of better options in Orange County.
