  We went to Pickles today after not having eaten there in a few months. We were absolutely floored by how expensive it has gotten. The average cost of a sandwich is now $24 and the average breakfast dish is around $22. Also the quality of the food is average at best. Also there weren’t very many patrons there which seemed very unusual for 11:00 AM on a Friday. I’m guessing due to the price increases. Finally the service which in the past was one of their strong points, was very slow even though the restaurant was nearly empty. Pretty disappointing.

  I've now tried both kinds of fries, the chips, macaroni and potato salads, and the slaw for a side, and they are okay to pretty good. The sandwiches steal the show. Yes, it is expensive here, but you are getting two meals. The staff is excellent. Thanks for a good experience.

  This was our first time eating at Pickles Deli. We wanted a special dinner for Easter. We phoned in our order for pickup and spoke with Paulina. She was friendly, patient, and answered all of my questions. We ordered two turkey dinners, a pound of assorted butter cookies, and two muffins. We specified a pickup time, and when we walked in, the food was ready to go. When we sat down to dinner, we couldn't believe the generous portions they give. We absolutely loved the turkey and dressing, as well as the steamed vegetables and mashed potatoes. The butter cookies were just the right touch for dessert without being overly sweet. We're saving the muffins for tomorrow. You can really taste when food has been made from scratch and with love. It makes all the difference. We can't wait to return. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out!

  I had a very disappointing experience with Pickles Deli and will not be returning. We placed a simple to-go order, and somehow even the basics were completely missed. The matzo ball soup was supposed to come with bagel chips — none were included. That might seem minor, but when you’re paying premium deli prices, you expect to actually receive what you ordered. The bigger issue was the avocado club sandwich. It was supposed to be on toasted bread, but instead came completely untoasted — soggy, messy, and honestly pretty gross. It completely ruined what should have been a straightforward, quality deli sandwich. For the prices they charge, this level of carelessness and poor quality is unacceptable. When you’re spending this much on deli food, you expect attention to detail and a properly prepared meal — not missing items and sloppy execution. As a local resident of Newbury Park, this was extremely frustrating. There are too many other options in the area to justify giving this place another chance. F minus. I will never eat here again.
