  I typically stop by this Safeway to grab a fresh loaf of bread. Never had any issues with the freshness. The atmosphere is nice and quiet. One thing I’ve noticed as someone who also likes to check the Pokémon machine here as I leave, it seems to go down for maintenance frequently. Although it’s not entirely the store’s control, it would be cool for the store to ensure that a customer isn’t messing with the machine (which may be why it keeps going down). In particular the machine went down on Sunday (04/19). A plus side to this store is that I haven’t seen anybody loitering at the machine, which puts this location above all the other local ones I’ve visited. Keep it up.

  Sold me moldy bread and made me sick. I bought a loaf of sprouted wheat bread yesterday and didn’t notice until today that it was COVERED in green mold. I had already eaten some of it and woke up with an upset stomach. This is completely unacceptable. This store should not be putting spoiled food on their shelves and charging full price for it. It is a food safety violation, plain and simple. Someone on staff is not doing their job — and management clearly isn’t either. And looking at the other reviews here, this is NOT an isolated incident. There’s a pattern of problems at this location that goes way beyond a single expired product. How is this still happening? I am a loyalty member so my purchase is fully documented. I will be going back for my refund and reporting this to the health department. Do better, Safeway. People are getting sick.

  ⚠️ Went to Safeway on Shoreline in Mtn View today and saw a large rat running down isle 11. When I reported it several employees there, including management, acknowledged they were already aware of the problem and that the rats had been coming into the deli area. Yet, the deli was not shut down, nor any other part of the store.

  Excellent grocery store with wide variety of foods, Deli counter. Excellent customer service above all else.

  The beer is warm all the time and when you bring it to the cashier's attention at self-checkout, they feel the can with their hand and say it's cold. I Am a store owner and my beer is 34° there beer is close to room temperature. If they're so inexperienced that they can't keep their beer cold how can you trust their dairy 🧈 or deli.
