I placed a cake order online for an event, relying on the designs and availability shown on Safeway’s website. After a full day of waiting, I received a text message saying my order was canceled, with no explanation and no prior communication. When I called the bakery to ask what happened and what alternatives were available, the employee was rude, dismissive, and unhelpful. She told me they couldn’t make the design, then said she doesn’t know what designs they offer at all. When I asked for any options, I was told they “aren’t doing designs,” and even worse, that if they do make some, she wouldn’t tell me which ones. The tone was disrespectful and made it clear my business didn’t matter. Canceling a bakery order without explanation — especially for a time-sensitive event — and then refusing to provide basic information is unacceptable. I’ve shopped at Safeway for years, but this experience was shocking. Management seriously needs to address customer service and communication at this location.

While I was in the store I bought a sandwich at the deli. This was the most poorly made sandwich I’ve ever had. It was missing an ingredient despite my telling the woman who made my sandwich twice I wanted pepperoncinis. Also, she tore half a piece of cheese in half. I didn’t even get a whole piece of cheese. Terrible.
