- LRLuke RobinsJan 4, 20261.0I had the unfortunate experience to have to stop at this Safeway after shopping at corte Madera Safeway. I entered the store with girlfriend and my mother. I had the bag of groceries from the other Safeway on my shoulder when I walked in not feeling safe leaving a bag in the car that looked like it could be something valuable...after ten minutes of shopping I wasn't feeling well and gave the basket to my girlfriend to finish and I headed for the exit ...upon reaching the exit I was approached by a Hispanic employee who told me the doors were locked and demanded to know what was in my bag....I told him which he responded by telling me I had to produce a receipt....he didn't do this quietly he paraded back and forth in front of people we probably know from the area demanding loudly a receipt....I was diagnosed with walking pneumonia today and was just along to pick up meds and did not have strength for such rudeness. I politely put the bag down and told him to hold it while I look in the car for the receipt.....I don't know about you but I don't think I've ever kept a grocery receipt for more than 10 seconds... I texted my girlfriend and mother who were mortified and the quickly left the basket and exited the store Not only do I want my groceries back...I want the Hispanic man who embarrassed my family fired.....we live in Tiburon and have been shopping at that Safeway for years and never....never have we been treated so poorly by anyone....it's no surprise it was an Hispanic. Please let me know when my mom can pick up our things and you better hope my father doesn't find out or you'll all lose your jobs and be sued. This isn't San Francisco....it's Marin....have some respect..

- CBCaroline Buster-BrownNov 19, 20254.0I'm sure it's a lovely Safeway, but I rely on the Safeway deli and bakery for all last minute festive affairs, and they didn't have anyone to help, no normal selection of ready made cakes, and pretty much refused to do lettering though the gal was there, but busy. No wait time offered or anything. They were going to at least ring us up at the deli, but that didn't happen either so we went to self checkout. The bakery at Safeway is open very early, but we weren't there at an odd time. It was morning, there was staff. The pre made Boston cream pie cake was a hit at least, the other was in front of an inaccurate sign and I we were in a hurry so it wasn't a big hit, nobody at the counter to check the label for me (I wear pretty thick glasses) even though they were right there they didn't think to answer or help confirm. I'll probably find a different Safeway on my route next time.
