- AGAnali GonzalezApr 3, 20263.0I stopped by the McKinleyville Safeway around 6:40 AM to pick up donuts for my office and was disappointed with the overall experience. Upon entering, I passed several employees and wasn’t greeted or acknowledged by anyone. When I reached the donut case, it was completely empty. I asked an employee if there were no donuts available, and was told “7:30 every day” without any further explanation. This was surprising, as there was no signage indicating that donuts wouldn’t be available until that time. Clear communication would have helped set expectations. Overall, the lack of customer service and product availability made for a frustrating visit. I ended up going to Ramone’s Bakery, where the staff was welcoming and able to help right away. I hope Safeway can improve both communication and customer engagement moving forward.
