  I visited a beautiful restaurant and had a wonderful dining experience! The steak was incredibly juicy and delicious, the salmon with mashed potatoes was amazing, and the ice cream dessert was absolutely outstanding. Everything was delicious, and the atmosphere made the experience even more special. Highly recommend! ✨🤍

  Went for an early dinner before the Bombers Game; The restaurant wasn't too busy but picked up as we were eating our meal. The server was friendly and checked in on us a couple of times. The food was tasty and I would want to come back and try other things next time, definitely recommend.

  Extremely disappointing experience at State & Main. We made a reservation to celebrate my husband’s birthday, hoping to enjoy a nice family dinner. Unfortunately, the way we were treated completely ruined what should have been a happy occasion. We were seated in the fine dining area, and even before we had settled into our seats, one of the servers informed us that our three-year-old daughter had to remain seated inside the booth and could not walk around the hallways. We respected the instruction and complied without any argument. Our daughter was simply excited and happily singing “Happy Birthday” to her dad. She was being a child, expressing her excitement during a family celebration. Then the manager approached us and, in a tone that felt unfriendly and unwelcoming, told us that our child could not be loud. What made this even more frustrating was that the people seated around us were also talking loudly and having conversations, as people naturally do in a restaurant, yet nobody appeared to have any issue with their noise. There were no apparent complaints from other diners around us. We could not understand why our three-year-old’s brief moment of excitement was singled out when the surrounding tables were equally lively. It was not just what was said, but how it was said. We understand that restaurants have rules and that children should be mindful of other diners. We were already cooperating with the staff, and there was no need to approach us in a way that made us feel as though our family was a nuisance. If the fine dining area was not appropriate for a family with a toddler, why were we seated there in the first place? We had made a reservation, and the presence of a young child should have been anticipated. A more suitable seating arrangement, such as the lounge area if that was more appropriate, could have been considered from the beginning. Instead, we were seated there and then made to feel unwelcome for having a three-year-old who was excited about her father’s birthday. What made this experience even more upsetting was that we left feeling singled out and wondering whether racial bias played a role in how we were treated. We cannot speak to the manager’s intentions, but the interaction left us feeling uncomfortable, judged, and unwelcome. It was difficult not to question why our family was approached this way when other diners were also talking and enjoying themselves. A family celebrating a birthday should not leave a restaurant feeling embarrassed for having a happy, excited child. There is a difference between politely managing noise and making paying customers feel that they do not belong. State & Main, this was not the birthday experience we had hoped for. We expected hospitality, courtesy, and professionalism, but instead left feeling disappointed and disrespected. I hope management takes this feedback seriously and reflects on how families are treated, how staff communicate with guests, and whether all customers are being made to feel equally welcome.

  Excellent service and dining experience! Great food, presentation and adult atmosphere! Well designed and decorated interior. Our server Madde was awesome! She was super friendly, efficient and knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Seating was very comfortable, not shabby and worn out. Clean too. Hope they don’t change a thing! Seriously. Nice menu selection with homemade calamari, pretzel bites, chicken and fries - fabulous! Kudos to Chef. Finally a nice place with adult vibe, uncomplicated menu, edgy and sophisticated. Bar tender did a great job making perfect cocktails - she and Madde heard our preferred drink orders. Will be back, very soon!

  We visited State & Main for the first time last night! Everything about it was exceptional! Atmosphere, food, drinks were delicious! What we were most impressed with was the service, our waitress, Madde B was phenomenal!!! It has been a long time since we have had service like that! I just can’t say enough about the whole experience! I highly recommend!! Fairly busy so if you can , might recommend making a reservation! Ask to sit in Madde’s section if she is working!!!
