From the moment I walked in, I felt like an inconvenience to the employee (female, wearing glasses). The interaction was noticeably cold and unfriendly, which already set a poor tone. When it came time to pay, she watched very closely as I selected my tip. I typically tip without hesitation, but given the poor service from the start, I chose not to this time. What made the situation especially rude was that she seemed to expect a tip after providing poor service from the get go. After seeing that I selected 0%, her attitude noticeably worsened. She then aggressively scooped an extremely small portion of chips into the bag (see photo) and placed the queso on top, crushing them. The portion size was far below what is normally given, and the way the food was handled felt careless, dismissive and unhygienic as the queso that was sitting on the counter had then been placed directly on top of my chips. It genuinely felt like I was being given less product because I didn’t tip. I’m writing this to make the store owner aware of this experience, as it reflects poorly on the business. Customers should not feel judged or penalized based on tipping decisions. Tips are meant to reflect the quality of service, not determine it, especially considering the quality of the service wasn’t worth a tip to begin with. As a regular customer, this was very disappointing. I hope this is taken seriously and addressed so others don’t have a similar experience.
