Hard Times BBQ is an absolute standout for anyone who loves authentic, hearty barbecue. From the first bite, you can tell the food is prepared with real care and a deep respect for traditional BBQ flavors.
The meats are incredibly tender, smoky, and packed with rich seasoning that doesn’t overpower the natural taste. Every item on the menu feels thoughtfully crafted, from the perfectly cooked ribs and brisket to the flavorful sides that round out the meal beautifully.
The portions are generous, the food comes out fresh and hot, and every plate feels satisfying and well worth it. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a casual, comforting meal.
The staff are friendly, attentive, and make the experience even better with great service and hospitality. Hard Times BBQ consistently delivers quality and flavor—definitely a place you’ll want to return to. Highly recommended!

Just tried Hard Times BBQ—the new (and only!) BBQ spot in town—and everything was fantastic. The brisket, burnt ends, and tri-tip were all cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The sides were just as good—the Mac ‘n’ cheese, coleslaw, and cornbread were all on point. The BBQ sauce was unique and really delicious, and the staff were super friendly and helpful, which made the whole experience even better. Portions were generous, prices were really reasonable, and we’ll definitely be back

Just tried out Hard Times Barbecue in Marysville, and I love seeing a new spot pop up in town.
We went for the dino bone and rib tips. The meat itself was solid. Good flavor, cooked right, and definitely hits the spot when you’re craving barbecue. Not fall-off-the-bone tender, but still a good, satisfying bite.
For the sides, we had mac and cheese, Mexican street corn, beans, and cornbread. The mac and cheese is more on the simple side with a cheese sauce and firm noodles. The street corn was decent, but the beans stood out the most out of all the sides. The cornbread was really good. Big, thick, and sweet.
They were actually sold out of the potato salad when we went, which just tells me people are showing up and supporting.
Overall, it’s a solid spot if you’re looking for barbecue locally. And I really like that they have a lot of young people working the front. It’s always nice to see businesses giving opportunities to the youth.
Definitely worth checking out and showing some love as they continue to grow.

The BBQ food is outstanding, every single item we tried was perfect. The ribs were falling-off-the-bone tender with incredible smoke flavor, the pulled pork meat was rich and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, mmm-um and the tri tip was cooked to absolute perfection. The mac n cheese was creamy and flavorful, the beans had that perfect blend of sweet and savory, coleslaw nice n chilled, the Elotte was my only drawback it should be served hot not cold, the cornbread was moist and buttery, everything you want BBQ sides to be. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Outside n inside clean throughout the premises. Comments about being pricey?... look at the labor they put in to give us very tasty dishes..... I say its worth it! Yes I would return! (Like MacArthur) we waited about 16mins but worth it. Also need 12 more parking slots too small.

Go early. We made the mistake to stop by before work which was about 7pm and they had run out of alot of meats. No turkey, no chicken, no rib tips and some other meats. We ordered the 2 meats 2 sides. We got brisket and ribs. I choose Mac and cheese and cornbread. My husband got the potato salad and Mac and cheese. We're from Texas and all I have to say is that this place tasted just like home. 😋😋😋. This place didn’t dissapoint at all!!! Worth every penny!!!! Our compliments to the chef!!! We'll definitely be back to try other meats. Oh and we got the peach cobbler for dessert. Chef's kiss!!!
