  They only had self check open. The employees were not helpful at all. I'm disabled and having to use the self check out with 150.00 worth of groceries was very hard. There are only 6 self check out spots and there was a line of people for both sides and they had a display table right in the middle.

  I really appreciate their deli department, especially since they brought back the tamales. They are far more tasty and juicy than the ones in the freezer section. I'll steam two or three in the " as seen on TV square red copper pan" or pot or whatever. Six minutes at medium heat to get the water boiling and then another eighteen minutes on low to continue the steaming. Oh yeah I through in three mugs of water so I don't let the pot to run dry. I use the timer on my smartphone to let me know when to pull myself out of my recliner while watching cooking shows on PBS. Also the cold cuts from Detzs and Watson are excellent. I add diced red bell peppers and onions to their tuna salad and horseradish to their coleslaw.

  I heard you guys might be separating with my boy Donovan. He’s the best guard you guys could have besides his brother. We used to get Arizonas in the morning before taking the 217 bus to Fairfax High back in the day. He knows everybody in that area. His g-ma used to live on Fairfax & Saturn. There’s no way you guys wouldn’t want him there. The communities gotta treat its people better.

  I am so disappointed after hearing that it may be possible I will not be seeing the security guard Donovan working at this location anymore. He’s been such a pleasant and enjoyable man to have met, conversed with, and laughed with. Not to mention the atmosphere he brings whether that’s securing the store and/or stopping the rampant theft. He’s been the best guard I’ve ever seen there as the other company didn’t do much before and him upon first day was getting to it in terms of stopping thieves. Just last week there was a lady in the parking lot who nearly ran over someone and was driving so erratic it was scaring everyone, not to mention she had some sort of pepper spray/mace that she was walking around with. He confronted her very calmly with a very stoic demeanor which made me feel safe along with everyone else I noticed. And from what I heard that was just one of the incidents he’s already had to deal with since only being there about a week and some change. I along with many others from the area would absolutely hate to see him go It’ll truly be a shame if his home store of over 20 years lets that happen.

  Donovan is one of the most amazing guards I’ve ever met. Definitely the best guard I’ve met in mid city. He makes shopping at this store all the more enticing and nice. From the way he greets you to the way he says, farewell not to mention his adamancy in doing the absolute best job, he can. I’ve seen him help people in the parking lot even after the store was closed. He’s such a treasure to have there. I can’t imagine they would do something so brash as to let him go.. I will not be shopping there anymore if he’s not there as it’s too robotic and doesn’t feel homely without a person like him. The energy he has lights up the entire room when need to be. I hope this store truly values what they have if they do they’ll make the right decision and keep him.
