  Nobu Los Angeles on La Cienega has been a staple of my client entertainment rotation for years. When working with buyers touring Sunset Strip and West Hollywood Hills properties, dinner here is practically a rite of passage. The black cod and yellowtail jalapeño remain peerless and the sake program is outstanding. The energy in the room always impresses first-time visitors to LA. A reliable choice for when the stakes are high and the clients are discerning.

  Our 18 YO son wanted to go. We had been to Matsuhisa many times, many years ago, before Nobu expanded worldwide. It's very different now. Hip, yes! Cool people, yes! Service was great! However, after visiting Japan and countless Omakase in US, I prefer being able to taste the fish not covered in spicy or garlic sauce. And $1,200 for 3 people? Yikes! Not a value proposition.

  A nice location, however, the vib was a little too relaxed and casual. The dj was a little rough and the mashups were off.

  First time trying Nobu and it was a good experience. I absolutely understand why everyone gets the yellowtail. Its absolutely delicious and not raw tasting at all. The star of the night for us were the waygu tacos. Black cod miso filet was highly recommended by our waiter but it didnt really do it for us. The sweet outer layer wasnt that appetizing to us but it was a good experience overall.
