  This is hands down my favorite Indian restaurant in Los Angeles. The food is consistently amazing and easily the highest quality I’ve been able to find. Every dish is full of rich, authentic flavor and always tastes fresh. I especially love their curry and chicken tikka masala—they are absolutely outstanding and never disappoint. I’ve tried Indian restaurants all throughout California, and this place is truly in a league of its own. On top of the incredible food, they also offer DoorDash, which makes it even more convenient to enjoy my favorite meals at home.   We were in a hurry and stopped by this restaurant randomly. The service was very attentive, which made a good first impression, and the food was tasty and satisfying overall. The Chicken Kasumba stood out with well-balanced spices and great flavor. We weren’t fully sure about the freshness of the curries, while the naan was good. The jeera rice was okay and fairly standard. However, the ambiance was below average, and it was concerning that the kitchen, restrooms, and storage areas were located next to each other and didn’t appear well maintained, which left an odd impression.

  I visited this spot for a vegetarian meal, but unfortunately, it didn’t live up to the expectations. Overall, the food felt unauthentic and lacked the punch you expect from Indian cuisine. ​Palak Paneer: The flavor was just "okay," but there were very few pieces of paneer in the dish. ​Dal Tadka: Very bland and lacked the smoky, seasoned tempering it needs. ​Breads: The Aloo Kulcha was good. The Onion Garlic Kulcha was the biggest disappointment—I wouldn't recommend anyone order it. ​If you’re looking for authentic Indian flavors, this might not be the place. The Atmosphere & Hygiene: The most concerning part of the visit was the layout. To use the restroom, you have to walk directly through the kitchen. This is not only awkward but feels very unhygienic for a restaurant.

  We had an amazing meal at Star of India! We ordered the chicken karahi, garlic cheese naan, butter roti, okra masala, gulab jamun, and kheer, and everything was absolutely delicious. The flavors were rich and authentic, the portions were very generous, and the service was friendly and attentive. Definitely a place we’ll be coming back to!
