Asked about brunch. Was at lazy dog Downey last wknd but the waitress said they don't advertise because they cut most of it then went to Mgr and said its gone at this location due to cost. Maybe do not advertise it then?! Waitress took forever. Will not go back.

Dominic was great! We had the three most popular apps, and I enjoyed some delicious trout with a great sauce. Great spot to watch the playoffs, and enjoy a great meal. I didn’t try any beer, but the selection was great.

Our group had been visiting the nearby Los Angeles Convention Center, and strolled to the L.A. Live Entertainment District for a meal. We are familiar with the Lazy Dog Restaurant chain, having been frequent guests at their Thousand Oaks location. Given the marquee status and staggering rent at a high profile location like the L.A. Live Entertainment District, we expected this to be a flagship operation. Boy were we in for a surprise. We were seated promptly, and the moderately busy restaurant appeared in order. On a quick trip to the restroom to wash up before eating, we encountered clean and well stocked restrooms. It sadly went downhill from there. We were met with a long wait for poorly crafted meals for all four guests at our table (and heard similar comments from an unrelated family seated nearby), Even something as simple as their signature Grilled 5 Cheese Sandwich was delivered half-cold and nearly disassembled, as if the the chef had slid four stale pieces of Wonder Bread (what happened to the one-time Texas Toast thick bread?) onto the plate over several minutes, only to ineptly ladle "sticky cheese sauce" onto them - with a spatula. The service we experienced from our waiter went from largely indifferent to passive-aggressive when we politely sought to make just one minor correction to our side order of fries. The cocktails were OK, but clearly not made by an experienced bartender, and seemed more in line like something you'd be served by the hotel clerk during happy hour at the Holiday Inn. While we love the Lazy Dog Restaurant restaurant chain, we can't find ourselves stomaching a return to this site. Instead of a brand-building experience at a flagship location for the crowds of tourists that visit the area - that could build a customer for life, the kitchen and wait staff at this site most assuredly turns them off from ever trying any one of the chain's fifty other restaurants, and that included the guests we ate with that day. No matter how much we've mentioned them joining us at the Thousand Oaks or Oxnard locations, they offer a polite but firm no. Corporate needs to undercover boss this location and clean house calmly and purposefully. Details matter, and it's hard to imagine how they spend so much money leasing this high profile location, only to turn people away from their brand.

Attended an event at the Grammy Museum and we were hungry! Luckily Lazy Dog was open with practically no wait. BF and I split the chicken pot pie and the loco moco fried rice. The other people in our big group also ordered individual entrees and we all split two orders of nachos and three other appetizers. Sorta disappointed that Lazy Dog didn't take into account the amount we were ordering and move us to a bigger table (there were a couple of empty large tables around). When all the appetizers arrived, it barely fit on the table with our individual plates and settings, much less when our entrees came out. We had to flag someone down to combine a table nearby to give us more space to place our food. The chicken pot pie ($21.95) was decent. The loco moco fried rice ($19.25) could do with some more protein, it was mainly rice. Appreciate we were able to do split checks, given the variety of items ordered by different people in our group. I didn't park at LA Live, so not sure if they validate parking and for how long. If you want to take advantage of happy hour, make sure you sit at the bar or patio.
