Phenomenal! I rarely go for brunch and out to eat at that. I don’t care to go somewhere and feel bad after eating their food. Which is most places these days. Gritz N’ Wafflez showed me different. Met for a friend’s bday. Had the sweet grits with Mama Zulu’s Butter and the cinnamon toast with eggs and turkey bacon. Any seasonings and sweetenings were literally perfect. Nothing was overly seasoned or sweetened, but no where near bland. We had a table of 10. Jasmyn handled us well and with grace. Couldn’t say a bad thing about this place. I see why it was packed with people hanging out outside waiting on a table. Others had chicken and waffles with greens(perfected greens I should add) and catfish w/grits. Unless the wonderfully large portions was the cause for a Togo box, everyone smashed their food. No togo boxes needed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Everything on the menu is delicious. Probably the only restaurant in the world where I want everything every time, and we usually do end up getting half the menu. No regrets. You made me love gritz! That sauce! Best fried chicken. Sometimes I just pop in for a few wings to go. Mmm, and the waffles. French toast! & now mimosa!!! Yes.

I visited Gritz N Wafflez today for their Valentine’s Day special and traveled all the way from Santa Clarita to try it out, so I was really hoping for a great experience. The wait to get in was about 10 minutes without a reservation, and we were seated right away, which was a plus, especially on a busy holiday. We originally had a server named Jasmine with a fade, but shortly after, our server changed to another Jasmine with braids. From that point on, I felt rushed while ordering, and my questions weren’t properly answered. She also kept emphasizing that everything was an additional charge, even though I never asked about pricing, which made the experience feel uncomfortable rather than welcoming. I was there for over 90 minutes, and it took more than 30 minutes for my food to arrive. I ordered the grits, fried catfish, and a waffle, along with the fried deviled eggs as an appetizer. The fried deviled eggs were the highlight and easily a 10/10 crispy, flavorful, and the best part of the meal. Unfortunately, the Valentine’s Day meal itself was about a 6/10. The grits had large pieces of uncooked grits and weren’t smooth or creamy as expected. The fried catfish was flavorful but a little too hard for my liking. My waffle came with whipped cream, which I initially thought was butter, and it became soggy quickly. I also ordered a Coke, but it tasted off, like it came from an old can. Overall, between feeling rushed, the repeated emphasis on extra charges, the long wait for food, and the quality issues, the experience didn’t meet my expectations, especially after traveling from Santa Clarita to try it. Aside from the fried deviled eggs, nothing stood out enough to make me want to return.

I went for breakfast on Valentine’s Day. They seemed a little overwhelmed by the large crowd on Valentine’s, but the staff was working hard to make things work. Our server was Jada and she was checking people in when we arrived, I also noticed her helping the busboy bussing tables, and she came to take our order and serve us. I appreciate her hard work to assure that we didn’t have to wait any longer than expected. She was also helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. I’ll definitely be back again.

Overall, Food was not that good. Idk what these reviews are talking about. Cheap cheese in the Gritz, not melted, they were also runny, dark meat for chicken tenders, Cajun sauce had no flavor, plastic ware cost lol, catfish, ehh. Eggs were runny, hard and had cheap cheese as well. Not melted just on top of the eggs. Potatoes were okay. Maybe because they’re frozen. Oh, my wife said the waffle was good. Area where restaurant is isn’t the best either. Vibes were off. You sit outside until they decide they’re ready for you to come in. Hostess, no. Too busy asking did we use their valet. Valet we never seen and saying we can’t park in front to ask a question. Like huh?? The waiter we had was really nice. Overall disappointed. Wont return. Use better quality ingredients.
