If you’re a connoisseur of Italian cuisine, most dishes will leave you mildly disappointed. One example is the risotto with shaved black truffle and balsamic vinegar—why even bother with the truffle when you know the balsamic vinegar will be the most overpowering ingredient in the dish? It just feels like they chose ingredients based on what sounds fancy on the menu without any care for how the dish will taste in practice. Given the overall pretension permeating this establishment, I was expecting much more. Any modest trattoria in Italy could do much better.
