Went to grab food here after hearing of the death of my close family member. Between about 3/4 people at the front, no one helped me or even acknowledged me for some time. Not even a ‘we’ll be right with you.’ The last guy helping me didn’t seem to be interested in servicing me whatsoever. Just walked off and helped the next people in line. Didn’t hand the bag or say anything after asking if I wanted a receipt. I just felt very unwelcome.

First time at CAVA and had a great experience at the Westwood location by UCLA. Jeremy was incredibly nice and took the time to walk me through the menu since I had no idea what to order. He explained the different base options and toppings and helped me build something I actually loved. Super welcoming and patient, he made my first visit easy and enjoyable. I’ll definitely be back.

Cava is always one of my favorite places to grab lunch! I’d never been to the Westwood location, like always it was great. This location left me extremely happy. Their costumer service was phenomenal. I dropped my pita walking out and without having to say anything the general manager Ceaser approached my boyfriend and I at our table and gave me a new piece of bread and threw out the old one for me because he saw that I had dropped it on the floor. A lot of people, let alone businesses don’t provide that type of service anymore, but the management here left be extremely satisfied. We will 100% be coming back!

What happened to me at this location is not just bad service, it reflects a deeper issue in how customers are being treated. I went to pick up my order (placed at 7:26 PM) at the CAVA Westwood location during finals week after studying all day, expecting a quick and familiar stop for food. Instead, I left feeling humiliated, shaken, and emotionally drained. I arrived at my exact pickup time (7:45 PM) and was told my order would take another five to ten minutes. I waited patiently inside the restaurant in full view of the entire staff the entire time. After waiting even longer, I asked again about the status of my order (time: 8:02). That is when staff suddenly became confused and began saying they thought it had already been picked up. Then the manager, a visibly older White blue-eyed man wearing a black hat and black polo, stated "one of your friends must have already picked it up" as he handed me my new remade order. I was sitting right there the entire time. I never left. Neither did my friend. And yet I was essentially accused of theft without proof, without care, and without any apology.
That moment felt like a microaggression. Being suspected and spoken to that way while doing absolutely nothing wrong stays with you. This was not just bad customer service. It was emotionally distressing. What should have been a small moment of relief during a stressful finals week turned into something that followed me home. I could not even bring myself to eat the food I paid for. To make things worse, my drink was placed rim down on the dirty register counter right in front of me, which felt unsanitary and careless, especially since I have severe food allergies. One female employee treated me with genuine kindness and professionalism, and I am grateful for her. But the behavior of this manager completely overshadowed everything else. No one should ever be made to feel suspected, disrespected, or uncomfortable simply for picking up their own food. I truly hope this location takes accountability and seriously reflects on the behavior being allowed within its management.
