Ban Ban Burger is one of my favorite burgers in LA and by far, the most unique. All their sandos and burgers are amazing, but I especially love their Grapow smash. Their thai tea shake and fries are also amazing. There are many smashburgers in LA, but none of them taste like Ban Ban!

I came to Ban Ban Burger for food, but I left with a full stomach and a new life plan. The cashier — an absolutely stunning woman with the kind of presence that makes you forget your name — recommended the chicken sandwich. Naturally, I took her advice. (Anything to impress my future wife, right?) The sandwich was fire: crispy chicken dipped in panang curry, Thai pickles, aioli ...not your average fast-food fare. But as she casually mentioned the Grapow Smash Burger was “a little spicy,” I knew I made the wrong choice. Still, I nodded like a fool. Next time, I’m going all in on that Grapow and maybe finally asking her out.
The sandwich took about 15 minutes, which I spent planning our wedding (and also eyeing the Pandan shake for next time). The space is small but charming — a communal bench inside, some solo stools, and a few outdoor tables.
For now, 4 stars. For her? Infinity.
